That's career suicide though. The "break" will have to be after Telephone, but then she's doing the tour that'll probably go onto September at latest. If it ends when it should end, which is July, she should stay away until December and release the first single then, a second one in March and the album after the second one.

 

'Cause let's face it she'll be completely irrelevant if she waits takes a year and a half break. She's not established enough yet to have a massive loyal fanbase (Madonna, Kylie etc) and there will be the new best thing then. At the minute she's surviving on hype. Only time will tell if she can pull it off.

But then again rushing the second album and getting it wrong could be even more damaging.
