I'm not certain that Outta My Head would have performed massively better than I Got You as a charting single, but at least she would heave got some credibility for going with a different sound and style and would probably have won over some new fans by showing that there is more than just MOR balladry and mid-tempo's on the album, thus shifting more copies of Echo off the back of it.

It's really what she needed, I believe it would have performed better. I do like 'I Got You' but it's nothing she hasn't done before and better, people will get bored of the same thing again and again.

Without strong Radio 1 support it wouldn't have done any better. If Radio 1 got behind I Got You It would be a Top 10 hit.

If "Outta My Head" isn't released as a single, a load of people at Leona's record company need the sack <_<
Excellent for 30 Seconds To Mars... I think "Night of the Hunter" or "Hurricane" could have been just as big but it's a good choice nonetheless.
Beverly Knight has a loyal fanbase, still tours and still writes great music I do not think she has ever needed Radio 1 approval. The Radio 2 list is far superior anyway

She does, but Radio 1 support is crucial these days. I'm not sure when they last supported her, but I can't imagine it was for either of the last two underperforming albums. :( Releasing her singles as download only doesn't exactly help, it probably saves money, but it doesn't make any either.
