February 24, 201016 yr I swear Radio 1's playlists werent this bad a few months back. The lack of Gabriella, Sabrina etc is dissapointing. Really expected them to playlist Lemar for a week or two aswell after he went top 10.
February 24, 201016 yr Well Leona was never gonna make impact on the playlist. I still can't believe they still haven't playlisted David Guetta and Keri Hilson. :( Why has Florence been added again? Edited February 24, 201016 yr by Tacticz
February 24, 201016 yr O.M.G. 'Go Do' is B-listed!?!!! :o That's amazing!!!!1 :w00t: It was B List last week though :kink:
February 24, 201016 yr Really surprised and disappointed at Leona being kicked off :( Good for Scouting For Girls even though it isn't their best song. Next week really is the last week for Gabriella, really. Doubt it'll happen though :( Such an amazing song, I don't see how they can ignore it. Boring week
February 24, 201016 yr Oh god, what is so special on the You Me At Six track that it's still A listed after it flopped two weeks ago (#49 or something like that) But some nice additions: Tiesto or Alex Gardner What's so special about them is that they're selling out a lot of GIGS, people who like bands like You Me At Six and Enter Shikari download illegally rather than buy them. If you saw them support Paramore you would have thought they were the headline act! Why do people think that what is played on the radio should be defined by singles chart positions? Surely you've all noticed by now that third singles from a lot of albums don't get near the top 75 sometimes but the albums still sell and it's something which people would want to hear! Arctics' new one won't put much of a dent in the singles chart but they're still a very popular band playing big venues.

I think here it is about Radio 1 (and not radio in general), and R1 looks like they play always songs that get single releases and they playlist songs that are/will be popular on the charts ;) (On another note :puke: at Paramore )
February 24, 201016 yr Wild Beasts, fucking hell ! Vampire Weekend, Laura Marling, Stornoway and Yeasayer too :D. So few "landfill indie" bands make the playlist now compared to 3 years ago, maybe Band Of Skulls or Bombay Bicycle Club are at a push but it's mainly crossover stuff making it...
February 24, 201016 yr BRILLIANT new additions this week :D 30 Secs (even though they ignored Happier), There was no such single, it was a mistake in MW - they had mixes it up with a different band and as mentioned in the thread, Dance Little Liar was never a confirmed single either, just a strong rumour which they switched to My Propeller
February 24, 201016 yr Whoa im shocked that they completely removed leona on its release week. I dont think the song ever went up to b-list.
February 24, 201016 yr I'm not surprised they removed Leona, they do that with a lot of pop acts on the release week if their single is flopping that badly.

Really expected them to playlist Lemar for a week or two aswell after he went top 10. Totally agree- I think there should be a thread along the lines of Radio 1 bashing thread. There are just too many things about the whole station I hate the playlist being No 1.It has got worse the way they are obsessed with the yoof even though the average age of the dj's is probably 60.
February 24, 201016 yr A-List * Florence & The Machine & Dizzee Rascal - You Got The Dirtee Love One week behind! At least it's listed now I guess.
February 24, 201016 yr Whoa im shocked that they completely removed leona on its release week. I dont think the song ever went up to b-list. I think that is one of the better decisions they made. This is the third track and her current era's singles is not gone down well with the public.
February 24, 201016 yr A lot of good new songs on that playlist. Is "O.N.E." the next Yeasayer single? I like it a lot so very pleased to see it C-listed. Great additions for Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend and Wild Beasts! :D
February 24, 201016 yr I think that is one of the better decisions they made. This is the third track and her current era's singles is not gone down well with the public. 2nd. They refused to move it up any higher because of their "audience research" following Happy.
February 24, 201016 yr Plab B playlisted already?! They are still playing 'Stay Too Long' to death at the moment! It's ages before the second single release... I wish they'd give Keri Hilson a chance... I think the record could be huge in the UK. :(
