I've come to a saddening conclusion.

 

Beaver is going to be #1.

 

This is seriously the first time since I first started listening to the chart show that the #1 actually physically repulses me.

 

I suppose I've been gifted it hasn't happened yet - I've at least semi liked the #1 ever since the start of 2009. This, however...

Having too many #1s "cheapens" it. Call me old-fashioned, but I like to think the #1 should be hard to achieve and prestigious. Having too few can get a bit boring for chart fans though. I think 2008 had quite a nice number for me.

 

I do think in the current era, #1s are a lot easier to achieve for people to get there based on hype etc.

I echo your sentiment. I'd rather see a genuinely popular song get to no. 1 and spend a few weeks at the top. They tend to be the more well remembered songs whether you loved it or loathed it. Look at all those no. 1 singles in 2000; how many are still played on radio/music channels frequently (like VH-1) or even remembered.

I much prefer a fast turnover at the top than having songs (almost always songs I can't stand) hog the top spot for ages, really boring.

I am sorry SIX you normally have good taste in music but that Didi version sounds like a dying cat.I think the Glee version is really good but Bill Withers and Club Nouveau have done the best versions.When is the actual release week for Pixie's Gravity and Robbie's Sports relief song.

If you have the mp3 to it and properly listen, she actually sings it very well. :P It might just be her tone that annoys you. Very Diana Vickers except a billion times better :D

 

Talking of Diana, i can't wait to see how Once does on iTunes. The video is actually pretty good :D

I hate to say it but I did not like Diana on X-factor and like her even less now.Her fans are just crazy and just will not let it go that she did not win.Her voice is just weak and not really cat like more wolverine like.I am really liking Mclean though he has such a good voice I hope he can get his first Top 10 and sustain a long career.

Diana has admittedly lost the strong voice she had in her audition. She still has a good voice but not great imo :(
