In her native Holland, Caro's song has been used to advertise Bacardi and it's stuck around really well in their singles chart amongst all the fast movers surrounding her track. :lol:

 

As for Alicia Keys, I assume by your comment that means 'TSWABH' will be getting a proper UK release? :D It did get to no. 72 last month after she performed on The Jonathan Ross Show. It should've gone to no. 1!!! :( :P My chart still uses a format closely linked to the release schedule so that songs don't just enter thenv plummet as I chart loads of songs each week high up. I like to keep some form of order in my personal chart. :D Yes, Boyzone indeed make the top 10. :lol: As I've posted in the UK Chart forum, it's their best single - imo - since 'No Matter What'. I've always considred Boyzone to be really inconsistant. The majotity of their singles I just never liked. Tracks like 'You Needed Me', 'Everyday I Love You' and 'I Love The Way You Love Me' bore me completely. The type of song that is the musical equivalent of watching paint dry. :zzz:

As for their older singles, I'm not at all interested in You Needed Me or Everyday I Love You but I always had a soft spot for I Love The Way You Love Me :wub: must have been the string section in the song :lol:

Mumford & Sons have got a really unique sound and they've taken Australia by storm. Have to admit, I'd not even heard this song until Saturday when I checked out the weeks new releases. This stood out completely as one of the best new releases so to see this only #37 in the UK whilst some turgic nonsense called Tinie Tempah goes straight to no. 1 is tad mind boggling but hey, it's the UK charts 2000 (ie; Oxide & Neutrino). Tinie will probably be forgotton about in another 18 months from now. I can see Mumford & Sons go from strength to strength. I suspect they will slowly grow a fanbase and them dominate with their second album - providing the quality is as good, if not better than the tracks from the debut album I've heard.

Mumford & Sons album is superb - Winter Winds is just beautiful. They are a bit like the Fleet Foxes as in chileld out Folky music. Both are highly recommended!

 

OK Go are more of a videos artist for me now, their music is pretty good (Here It Goes Again was a top 20 hit in my chart back in 2006) but the videos just eclipse it.

Oh yes, so much :wub: for 'TSWABH'. GD mentioned that this is now getting a UK release so I hope to see this song climb its way up the UK charts in two months time. It deserves all the success it gets. I always considered 'Fallin' by Alicia Keys as my fave single but this is getting close to becoming my fave Alicia track to date.

My thoughts on 'IWEMA' are practually the opposite. I think this is a brilliant track and is looking set to be Timbaland's most successful for me. It's catchy, uplifting and relatively fresh as it doesn't use all the generic Timbaland sounds that were recycled on Madonna's lukewarn album 'Hard Candy'.

I really didn't get the fuss with Ellie Goulding at first. In fact, to a certain extent I still don't. However, I've heard 'Starry Eyed' a few times over the last week on different music channels so it's allowed me to listen to the song. I think it's better than I inititially gave this song credit for, but it's entry at #30 means I think it's ok. If I thought it was very good it'd be top 5. :D

I personally don't regard 'Stylo' as Gorillaz at their best. All the singles from 'Demon Days' were excellent and, iirc, all made my top 15. As for 'Stylo' itself, I just find the track slightly "empty". Damon and Bobby's vocals are a tad offputting for me. Some parts of the song are great but other parts drag the song down for me making 'Stylo' overall just an ok song.

It had better be a top ten hit! it's better than Doesn't Mean Anything and Empire State Of Mind Part II put together in my opinion! The finest song of her career :wub:

 

Boyzone were quite hit and miss with me at the time...I really liked Picture Of You, No Matter What and All That I Need (:lol:) and quite liked a few others, but I seem to love all of their comeback material! Backstreet Boys did indeed make some great pop in those years, shame it's gone significantly downhill since then :(
