I think I might do a weekly thread for this, if I'm allowed.

This thread is based on contenders who could top the UK singles charts this week. Every week there will be five songs to pick from. Then on Sunday the results then will see if they number 1 that you wanted to be was the UK's official number one. Also it could you please post what you voted for please thanks. :)

Please vote. :D

Well I suppose Rihanna's the best of that motley bunch, on the album chart I hope it's Gorillaz.
Rihanna I suppose. Best of an awful bunch. That said it'd be foul if 'Rude Boy' made it as her weakest songs always seem to hit the top spot [excluding 'Umbrella'].

Out of them Songs the best for me is actually 'Baby'... then 'In My Head', 'Rude Boy', 'Parachute' and finally 'Pass Out'.

Rude Boy, but they're mostly horrible. That Shane McGowan song may actually be better

Rihanna is the best of an awful bunch, but her lead on iTunes is slipping away, my guess Tinie is going to hold on for a second week.

Looking at the single releases for this month and beyond, honestly I can't pin anyone, its looking pretty dull, unless something comes out from nowhere and least unexpected. Westlife anyone on a bad week  You have to look at download releases, the past few #1s are only available on downloads, Iyaz, Owl City, Jason Derulo, Tinie, bar HH, so if the pattern follows it could be Kate Nash her new single is only available to download with no physical attached.

Erm none of them?

Pass Out and Baby are awful, awful songs. The majority of the Rihanna back catalogue is much better than Rude Boy. Parachute is nothing more than a glorified album track and its a complete mystery how In My Head got top 10, let alone #1.

I'd like it to be Cheryl Cole but I do think it'll still be Tinie, Rihanna would be OK but to me Cheryl has the better song out of that lot.
Rude Boy!!!! Please not Justine, the rest are also good though
rihanna had better get number 1 to save the charts from that utter crap of a number 1 last week.
In an ideal world cherrypicking of 'Stylo' would go through the roof and get Gorillaz a second #1 (it beats anything here hands down for me) but they might have to settle for the album chart.

Oops, I misread the title - I thought you meant who WILL be #1, so I voted Tinie >_<

My real vote is for Jason.

Rihanna is increasing her lead on itunes a wee bit again, hope RiRi can get it this week but I think Tinie will :(

Why is the poll limited to five songs?

There should be another option that says Other. Then I could nominate 'On A Mission' by Gabriella Cilmi or Mumford & Sons 'The Cave' (like that's gonna happen!!! ). Rihanna should already be no. 1 over Tinie Tempah imo. 'Pass Out' is like one of those terrible US airplay no. 1 hits from 2004. 'Laffy Taffy' for example. In years from now people will look back to this week and think "why was that no. 1".

I'd like to see a poll like this every week (just make sure the contenders are actually the contenders, if you know what I'm saying :D). And also, whilst I agree in this instance, saying "Rude Boy obviously" in the thread description is sort of putting a bit of bias on the poll.

Anyway, the only songs I like out of those are Rude Boy, Baby and Parachute.

But I chose Rude Boy, as it's so catchy, and I've been hearing people sing it all the time the past couple of weeks. :)
