Glee Cast have set the record for most singles released in a year, by one act  on downloads though, not counting re-issues by Elvis Presley.

Volume 2 is out next week

Glee>>>>Everything else at the moment with the possible exception of Cilmi depending on how brilliant the album is. Oh and Alicia Keys.

tbh Aleds right- Glee music is clearly some of the better music around atm- What would you rather- Glee or all this rap crap? -_-

Also great news :cheer:

I think it's hilarious to see people complaining about this complete Glee saturation when seemingly identical, faceless 'grime' artists have been clogging up the charts almost to the same degree for a year now. I find the majority of Glee tracks a bit pointless but ADORE "Don't Stop Believin'" and the "It's My Life/Confessions, Pt. II" medley from a few weeks back

Am I missing something here?

Glee have charted 21 songs so far - last year MJ charted 33 plus some as a member of The Jacksons/Jackson 5.

:kink: Although I suppose this is referring to top 75 singles, and I'm sure Glee have at least 12 more hits in them anyway.

The 'Record' is for 'Fresh' Hits to Chart. Michael Jackson's 2009

Hits had all been Hits before. I realise that the Glee Hits are Covers,

but they had not been Hits by the Glee Cast before.

Thankfully, I can predict, with 100% accuracy, that the 'Glee Phenomenon'

will prove to be no more long lasting that Kids From Fame, who were huge in

the UK, in 1982, & meant Zero by 1984.....

It is best when the Charts are dominated by new Songs, & by Acts who can write

such Songs. The Beatles, Stones, ABBA, & Queen, managed it very well - why

so many Acts today rely on Covers etc., just shows that they simply are not

as talented as many older Acts.....

why do people always seam to think someone needs to write there own songs for it to be good. Lots of people can sing but couldnt write a [good] song to save their life. Other people can write a brilliant song but are totaly tone death....
