Leona Lewis to go dubstep?

Tuesday, February 22 2011, 12:47 GMT

By Lewis Corner, Music Reporter

Leona Lewis is reportedly looking to include dubstep as part of her new sound.

The 'Happy' singer is said to be looking to transform herself completely for her third studio album.

"Simon Cowell's Syco team have asked songwriters to hand them dubstep and dance tracks with traditional lyrics for the X Factor winner," a source told Heatworld.

"And they’ve specifically stated 'no ballads'," they added.

The British star recently revealed that her new album would have a "different" but "classic" sound.

Wow! She's gone for the new look and now no ballads! :o

I'm not sure about that, I hope it works but theres a lot of people on some forums that think it'll be a terrible idea
Don't believe that for one second. Usual press exaggerating. She says "different" so they go to the extreme different. When in fact it's just going to be a slight change. There is no way there won't be any ballads.
I hope they'll be at least a couple of ballads as I love Leona ballads :D
Yo @leonalewismusic is comin so hard on her next album.. No more of this #happy jazz

@bleedingluvgirl it was cool but it put me to sleep... youll see what i mean:)

CANT WAIT for this, hope theres alot of 'Outta My Head' style songs
Oh dear. From the sounds of things it seems they're going to almost completely abandon ballads! I really, really hope not. I just wanted LESS ballads and one that WASN'T a lead single! :drama:
i have an awful feeling if she goes too away from 'her sound' people will just LOL and it will flop :s
She has nothing to lose at this point, the last album is completely forgotten and in hindsight flopped, I think this will do much better due to 'shock' value... IF it is as different sounding as they say!

Pretty sure you're going to get what you want. There is absolutely no way there will be no ballads at all.

But still. There should be 4 or 5 maximum for Leona. I really hope there isn't just 1 or 2. I could pass at 3, depending on the quality. But it has to be at least a 60%-40%, Fast/mid-Slow ratio, imo. With an up tempo lead single.

SUMMER SMASH PLEASE!

I'M IN THE STUDIO WITH LEONA LEWIS AND I MUST SAY THAT SHE'S EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL IN PERSON. SUCH A PLEASANT SPIRIT. 7DAYS OF MAGIC #TTLO

Another great producer behind some fantastic songs like Sweet Dreams and Radio for Beyonce, Just A Dream for Nelly and All Night Long for Alexandra Burke.

OH WOW! Really hope he and Leona deliver something as special as 'All Night Long'
I hope this album is good, I'm not particularly a fan of her new look and this idea of no ballads is just bad, imo.

New song title - "Me You & The Music". One of the songs she did with Toby Gad. You can see it on the white board at the beginning of this video:

I hope she will be co writing the majority of the tracks on the album again :) Me you & the music sounds like a great title. Happy shes been working with Toby, should be a big tune :D

OH. MY.
