Posted March 26, 201015 yr So, first things first, Keisha would NOT have been booted, in fact if the girls weren't yet ready to return then I'd have given them some time off apart from each other to work out their differences before returning to the studio and getting ready for a jam-packed new album campaign. To mark their arrival, small video vignettes no longer than 30 secs would be released to TV showing all 3 girls standing in the desert before the beginning riff of 'AAG' plays, ending with Keisha singing 'Sugababes' (no RedOne for the promo) and cutting to 'The Return.' 'About A Girl' - - - - - - - - - - - - - Definitely should have been the first single, and if it had done, it would have blown up big time and probably gone to No.1 and ruled for a few weeks if handled correctly. The video would be the one we got, except it would be what it should have been; ie. the girls being a part of the storyline (tweaked it a little maybe) rather than just being bystanders dancing in a desert. She's A Mess - - - - - - - - - - - - - Easily the next best single choice, and would provide a nice follow-up to the hopeful smash that AAG was. The video likely won't be as high budget, maybe just green screened, or have a similar look to 'Get Sexy', but the song is gonna sell itself, it doesn't really need a huge video to back it up. No More You - - - - - - - - - - - - - I really, really like this song as a ballad/mid-tempo from the Babes, I think it would slow the pace down and would actually remind the public that actually, they aren't vocodered machines and do still have the Sugababes sound. Miss Everything - - - - - - - - - - - - - A nice close to the era before a re-release, but first things first; lift the vocoder and if it has to be used it would be minimal, include the Babes on the chorus. It's FEATURING Kingston, not the other way around so that would definitely need to be sorted. I know its not exactly the most 'Sugababes' track left on the album but it would blow up on radio. As for other possible singles, eh I'm not really feeling them; GS and WMK should be the last 2 songs on the tracklist along with 'Sweet and Amazing', they should NEVER have even been considered as singles. 'Heartbreak' is a bit corny, maybe as a b-side to a single off the re-release? So....thoughts? Your ideas? Sorry I'm just a wee bit bored on this Friday morning :P
March 26, 201015 yr I'm gonna do it Simon. style. Ideal would've been if they all went to #1. Get Sexy (release the album a week after GS) About a Girl (even though I hate the song) Miss Everything No More You
March 26, 201015 yr Obviously Keisha wouldn't of left. She's A Mess:- They wanted a buzz single, what a way to start. Especially with some contraversy. About A Girl: - Great song great hook. No More You:- Around christmas massive album sales, Keisha sounded amazing on this. Wait For You:- My personal favourite, a tune for all Thank You For The Heartbreak or Miss Everything. I think Miss everything would be the bigger hit but Thank You is much better(except the chorus is quite weak)
March 26, 201015 yr As lovely as Jade is, ideally Keisha woudlnt have been sacked. She ulimetly probably has the best voice of all the girls, and they wouldnt have had the bad press & loss of credability/fans. About A Girl should have been lead single. I liked Get Sexy, but I just feel it gave the impression of desperation slightly. The video of course would have been with them as the characters instead of the other girls. The album would have been launched on AAG and She's A Mess and Crash & Burn would have followed as singles with Wear My Kiss being released if everything has gone to plan.
March 26, 201015 yr For me. Jade would have replaced Keisha long before this campaign started. Then I would have gone like this... 01. 'About A Girl' [ALBUM RELEASE (1 WEEK AFTER)] 02. 'She's A Mess' 03. 'Crash & Burn' 04. 'Wait For You' [TOUR] 05. 'Sweet & Amazing (Make It The Best)' [Released around tour] [RE-RELEASE WITH NEW TRACKS] 06. *NEW TRACK* 07. *NEW TRACK* [ballad] [END] That would have been a pretty amazing era for me personally.
March 26, 201015 yr I too would have preferred all KeishaGate to happen before Get Sexy, although I'd rather it not have happened at all. Get Sexy - Was the perfect start, got people thinking they were cool again. It would have got to #1 if they did more promotion. About A Girl - Would have done much better without KeishaGate, maybe not a number 1 due to X Factor but it would have sold more the Get Sexy easily. Album release a week after. TYFTH/Wait For You - If they tried to make TYFTH more like the live version (backing track I mean) it would have ben a good single choice but if not I'd chose Wait For You. Crash & Burn/Little Miss Perfect - C&B if Jade was in the band LMP if it was still Keisha. She's A Mess - Coinciding with a tour. Miss Everything - With a new single edit. A re-release with about 4/5 new songs 2 of which would be singles.
March 26, 201015 yr This is what I would have: About A Girl She's A Mess Wait For You Get Sexy Sweet & Amazing (Make It The Best) I would have the album released 1 week after About A Girl. Then I would have a tour called 'The Sweet & Amazing Tour', and Sweet & Amazing (Make It The Best) would be released as a single to coincide with the tour. Also, I would still have Keisha in the group.
March 26, 201015 yr I am a Sugababes fan but to be honest , All of us knew this album would have flopped with or without Keisha - Get Sexy was a perfect single choice , About A Girl was rushed to realease due to the Keisha leaving and Wear My Kiss is a perfect Girl Group song. Once Keisha left , The album should NOT have been delayed although I think if they would have realeased it in November it would have charted low but still sold well because of Christmas. I keep thinking what if Amelle would have left instead of Keisha , what would the album been like? I think they should have scrapped Sweet 7 waited until the Summer and recorded different tracks and callaborate with old producers instead of trying to impress the US market. I also blame the groups label , They have treated the Sugababes very poor over the past two years ever since "Catfights and Spotlights" and then signing the Girls to a US label last year? The group should have renamed the Band , because "Sugababes" is now a brand.
March 26, 201015 yr I would've replaced Heidi with Keisha so the lineup was Jade, Keisha & Amelle... Heidi just looks washed up! Singles: She's A Mess About A Girl Crash N Burn Miss Everything No More You
March 27, 201015 yr 1st single: Thank You For The Heartbreak 2nd single: About A Girl (release album a week after AAG) 3rd single: She's A Mess 4th single: No More You 5th single: Miss Everything Edited March 27, 201015 yr by ~ Kay ~
March 27, 201015 yr 1st Single: About A Girl (perfect to tease the amazingness of the album) 2nd Single: Crash & Burn (launch the album with a ballad) Album release 1 week after C&B 3rd Single: She's A Mess (would be a hit) 4th single: Wear My Kiss (love this :P) 5th Single: Get Sexy (same as WMK) 6th Single: Miss Everything (perfect end, it features Sean Kingston - who I hate - but the song is very good imo) Also, Jade would have replaced Heidi instead of Keisha... I love Heidi, but her voice is nowhere as good as Amelle (the best imo), Keisha or Jade.
March 27, 201015 yr 1st single: Get Sexy (I don't know why people hate this, is the best of Sweet 7) 2nd single: Thank You For The Heartbreak 3rd single: About A Girl Launch the album 4th single: No More You 5th single: Miss Everything 6th single: She's A Mess
March 27, 201015 yr Do people's ideal Sweet 7 era really ential 3 singles to launch the album, even though that's one of the reasons it's flopped on it's arse? First of all, obviously ideally Keisha never leaves 1st single - 'About A Girl' Launch Album 2nd Single - Crash & Burn' 3rd Single- 'Miss Everything' Done.
March 27, 201015 yr 1st single: Get Sexy (I don't know why people hate this, is the best of Sweet 7) 2nd single: Thank You For The Heartbreak 3rd single: About A Girl Launch the album 4th single: No More You 5th single: Miss Everything 6th single: She's A Mess I love your sig
March 30, 201015 yr Keisha would still be in the band for my Ideal S7 era and the singles would go: 1. About a Girl *Album released the following week* 2. She's a Mess 3. No More You
