Posted April 1, 201015 yr Sky 1 is upping its female-skewing entertainment output with a documentary fronted by Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh, and a reality-makeover hybrid based on the growing British trend for US-style proms. Promzillas (working title) is a 6 x 60-minute series produced by Betty. Due to air later this year, it follows the demands of a string of prom divas who are desperate to become the belle of the bad-taste balls. The series, which is exec produced by Sarah Freethy, will also offer less confident teens a prom makeover by a dedicated team of stylists. The same broadcaster has also commissioned a 1 x 60-minute documentary from Ten Alps, which is hosted by Walsh and traces the history of jeans. The show, provisionally titled Jean Evolution, sees Walsh travel across the US and Europe to uncover the beginnings of denim and its adoption by cowboys, before meeting designers and manufacturers who will offer tips and industry insight. The doc is due to start filming in April and will air later in the year. It is being exec produced by Sarah Murch from Ten Alps and Lesley Douglas from Globe Productions. Both series were ordered by Celia Taylor, head of features and factual for Sky 1, 2 & 3. Source: Broadcast Now
April 1, 201015 yr Poor Kimba! While Cheryl's touring Europe playing huge arenas with the BEP, she is filming how denim is made. I'll watch it for her, but it sounds as boring as watching paint dry
May 28, 201015 yr Honestly. The more low-rent these programmes she presents start to get the more you wonder is she living in a cardboard box by the side of the road? Poor Kimba. I bet she's the first of the 5 to turn up on Im A Celeb/Strictly/Dancing On Ice etc etc
May 28, 201015 yr It is disappointing to see Cheryl becoming a worldwide star, and Kimberley doing something like this. I mean, it's not EVEN terrestrial telly. She deserves as much success as the rest of them. The day one of them goes into a reality TV show I will cry :(
May 28, 201015 yr Oh Kimberley! What ever will you be doing next? I'll probably watch though, just for her. Did anything ever come of the Xtra Factor job then?
June 18, 201015 yr its sad the papers have made such a big deal about a poxy little show about jeans! its on sky one i doubt it will even get 1m viewers! poor kim! i hope she gets some big project soon!
