Wow wordshaker sold bad compared to chasing lights! i did buy chasing lights because of up but i wasnt convinced of wordshaker

do they have any worldwide sales?

i remember talk of them breaking america a while back

I think their songs would do well in America, it's all about breaking the market. They'd need to firmly establish themselves in the UK first at least, maybe after this mini album they can go and promote in Australia, France, Denmark, Ireland and other smaller markets and break those countries first. Right now they're exclusive to the UK and are having slightly less success in Ireland than here, probably due to no promotion.
Like the comment says, i think they should focus on the smaller markets first, but maybe one day they could, they appeal alot more than girls aloud would. I think focurs on the smaler markets like, spain, france, germany, ireland, austria, australia :) because girls aloud had one single in the top 50 in australia and they didnt do that much promo, so imagine the sats getting loads of promo :') i mean forever is over got to number 83 in australia without any promo :)

How so? There are no big personalities in The Saturdays that anyone bar the fans are interesting in, nor are there any celebrities.

Yes, and Cheryl Cole has had a top 10 a further top 50 single on the Australian chart with no promotion. Also the fact you said that Girls Aloud got a higher peak than The Saturdays, both of which had no promo, shows that Girls Aloud could be bigger too.

Jeez, some of the 1-sided arguments I see in this forum are absolutely pathetic! And I wonder why I barely ever comment in here.

I dont think so, girls aloud have huge appeal that is refelected in all of their albums being hits and their continued popularity. girls aloud memebers are household names the saturday members are not know individually they are just known as the saturdays! im sure they will one day though but i do like the saturdays.

The only GA member who's a household name is Cheryl. To most people outside of their fanbase it's Cheryl and the others. Sarah and Nadine are known thanks to tabloid coverage but to a much, much lesser extent. But you're right about the Saturdays. Frankie is the most well-known and she's not yet a household name.

Then don't come here, I'm so sick of your "I know everything" attitude. You state all of your opinions as if they are gospel, but you talk so much rubbish it's unbelievable.

If you were such a Girls Aloud fan, you would be aware of a little show called "Off The Record" which documented their trip (as well as other trips) to Australia.

The show showed them promoting on Australian TV..

I'm not saying that The Saturdays are going to break the US or Australia, but to completely write them off is just silly.

The only reason Cheryl gets any sort of acknowledgement is because of her connection to Simon Cowell and The X Factor. Girls Aloud comes in a lengthy third place.

And her household name status is because she participates in one of the most watched TV shows all year? I'd bet a years salary that the other 4 aren't household names. Funny that!

I'm really surprised by the big sales for Chasing Lights, then such a sharp drop for the sales of Wordshaker... hopefully this new EP will do better for them.

The singles have sold pretty well though.

300 000 isn't that great
300 000 isn't that great

Do you just come on here to be negetive? :s

300,000 is BRILLIANT for a debut album! Surely you'd see that if you compare it to some other girl group debut albums.

The Saturdays - Chasing Lights, 320k

Girls Aloud - Sound of The Underground, 360k

Sugababes - One Touch, 220,728k

I actually collected alot more sales figures from girl-group debut albums but realised at the last minute that non of them still exist today. So above are the 'last standing' girl groups.

To be fair. sales have changed now. Album sales were dreadful at the time GA released.

The Sats album has done okay. Not particulary amazing but not awful. I mean Pixie Lott had 5 singles from her album (with sales the same as The Sats) and she's on 500K BUT considering how awful The Sats have been managed and the fact that it was a GIRL GROUP (which these days never do well) they've done very well on their own merit. They're always going to be known for their amazing singles and sales rather than album sales, anyway.

No one is remembered for their sales, not to the public at least.

I honestly wasnt trying to cause an arguement! I was just giving my opinion, just like your entitled to yours. Jeeez

Anyway, i think that headlines could get around about 5ish or 6ish :) The first week sales will be about 20,000+? i think, but i expect it to drop out of the top ten the next week :/
