Im gutted i just went onto digital spy and seen it on the front page, i never expected this to happen, i was sure lacey had no plans to leave. Gillian and Lacey are both fantastic and their on screen chemistry is fantastic. Its a huge loss to the show and in myown opinion a far bigger loss than losing Barbra Windsor. Bryan Kirkwood would really want to strat introducing strong adult charactors as with so many leaving they voids need to be filled.

Im also hugely dispointed that we wont get much of Kat and Stacey scenes as for me i think they would work brilliant together.

Whats gona happen now that we have 3 slaters bowing out, that only leaves mo and lat left, i think mo will be next to go now.

Lacey has won 28 awards so far playing stacey, i didnt realise she won that many i knew she had won a few, i hope that incresaes at the upcoming soap awards and i wish Gillian and Lacey all the best after eastenders and i hope they both get good work after eastenders especially lacey.

Oh dear, but I can't say I'm surprised by Lacey - they did well to keep hold of her for so long to be honest.

I have to admit I am slightly concerned for EE's future. Stacey and half of the Slaters, Minty, Peggy, Chelsea all going. But we get to keep Leon, Fatboy and the 10 million other teenagers on the show instead. Joy.

I said months ago the new guy would turn it into Hollyoaks mark II...

I dont think its fair to start rubbishing BK yet tbh. I'm sure he knows the difference between the two.

If anything, he might improve the current teens.

Also cast Zoe Lucker and is bringing back Kat, Alfie and Lisa [for the one ep].

People are really desperate to trash talk Kirkwood (especially on DS) but I don't really know why. Give it six months and then have a bitch if it isn't to your liking but we haven't even seen a single episode which was made under his reign yet!

I think they are bitching as alot of good characters seem to be going [Jean, Minty, Libby] and the worst characters that Eastenders have probably ever cast [Leon and Fatboy] are still there. Those two are literally ruining the show right now anytime they come on I can't bare to watch it.

Devastated at Lacey packing it in :( I suppose it was bound to happen eventually though - she has become such a massive asset to the show these past few years though. Loosing Jean is devastating aswell - but without Stacey I dont suppose there was much chance of her staying.

I suppose the only thing keeping Big Mo safe really is Kat & Alfie's return.

I can't believe Lacey and Gillian are leaving. They are easily in my top 5 favourite characters. I'm so gutted. :(
Poor Christian tonight :( Taking a beating for absolutely no reason. Syed deserves a slap.

Hmm, try posting that view on Digital Spy tonight :kink:

The beating wasn't as bad as I expected it to be - a little OTT falling out the doorway shouting "is that all you've got?" and next second shouting for an ambulance/help!

Not impressed by Mas walking away! Wonder how he'll punish himself for that one!

I think he deserved a beating for being a sh/te actor. Sorry EE fans ... but tonight's episode was really pants! He got a worse duffing over a few months ago in another storyline and didn't make half the fuss of the little scuffle he endured tonight!

A real let-down following the furore at the 'flat-warming' event. Tell you what though ... Amira's dad was well convincing. The first time I saw him I thought 'he wouldn't be out of place as a baddie in a Spaghetti Western'.

Caught a bit of EE tonight; Ben is absolutely LOL'able. 'Nuff said.

Now either Louise slapped him 'off camera' ... or he just isn't comfortable being the bully himself! One of the worst child actors ever (but in all honesty ... I've never, ever seen a good British child actor) but I quite like the storyline in an innocent, harmless, silly sort of way.

^ Ben put the spoon on her. The Stella effect ;)

And Maisie Smith [Tiffany] is an excellent little actress.

   Is the only reasonable response to that! She's bloody awful!

I don't think she's awful, she's doing as she's been scripted - a slightly precocious and wordy brat.

I do find the scripting itself very unrealistic though - I don't know of ANY child who speaks or acts like Tiffany does.

I don't know if Tiffany is a realistic character (she's never struck me as especially unrealistic in her manner) but Maisie Smith does a good job. She's likeable which is about all that matters with a child character who doesn't do much beyond make Pat and Bianca's life hell.

This week has been wall-to-wall AMAZING, especially tonight's episode. Dot was on fire with that sweet sherry and agreeing to have the cake once she'd found out Ian didn't bake it. Peggy and Pat were of course hilarious as they always are together. I know Babs isn't the greatest actress (neither is Saint Pam of Lemons for that matter) but she's really good with her comic delivery. I howled when she told Roxy that she was 'sad' that Pat had lied about having a date, 'the poor thing!'.
