Posted April 6, 201015 yr We've just passed the 2,996th chart - speculation on who could be #1 on the milestone occasion? *awaits thread to flop / be closed / be moved somewhere* Edited April 6, 201015 yr by BraySayer

April 6, 201015 yr 2,997 - Scouting For Girls 2,998 - Proffessor Green 2,999 - Chipmunk 3,000 - Roll Deep
April 6, 201015 yr Author You might want to predict 6 weeks into the future, as I'm still uncertain about exactly what number we're on.
April 6, 201015 yr 2997/2995 - Scouting For Girls 2998/2996 - Kate Nash? [maybe just wishful thinking] 2999/2997 - Diana Vickers [i think she'll just beat Chipmunk] 3000/2998 - Diana Vickers [or maybe Roll Deep] 3001/2999 - Sophie Ellis-Bextor [maybe Train or Allison Iraheta if Radio 1 support them, or maybe the #1 from the week before] 3002/3000 - Aggro Santos/Alexandra/Kelis/Edward Maya I hope it's the week in bold as it's easier to predict :P
April 6, 201015 yr Author What were numbers 1k and 2k? Err... *works out* 1,000: The New Seekers - I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing (In Perfect Harmony) 2,000: The Bangles - Eternal Flame 3,000: TBA I BELIEVE. Edited April 6, 201015 yr by BraySayer
April 6, 201015 yr Author EDIT: Upon further inspection, yes we are on week 2,996. W/E date of current chart is 10th Apr 2010 W/E date of first chart is 15th Nov 1952 Start with 1 for first day or it'll get lost +15 days to end of Nov 1952 = 16 days +31 days to end of 1952 = 47 days +1,461 days for 1953-56 = 1,508 days +14,610 days for sets of 1,461 for 1957-1960, 1961-1964, 1965-1968, 1969-1972, 1973-1976, 1977-1980, 1981-1984, 1985-1988, 1989-1992 and 1993-1996 = 16,118 days +1,460 days for 1997-2000 = 17,578 days +2,922 days for sets of 1,461 for 2001-2004 and 2005-2008 = 20,500 days +365 days for 2009 = 20,865 days +31 days for Jan 2010 = 20,896 days +28 days for Feb 2010 = 20,924 days +31 days for Mar 2010 = 20,955 days +10 days for Apr 2010 = 20,965 days Divide it by 7 = 2,995 weeks +1 for the very first week and we get 2,996. Yay, certainty :D Edited April 6, 201015 yr by BraySayer
April 6, 201015 yr What about the years when there wasn't a new chart between Christmas and New Year?
April 6, 201015 yr 2.997 = Scouting For Girls 'This Ain't A Love Song' 2,998 = Professor Green 'I Need You Tonight' 2,999 = Diana Vickers 'Once' 3,000 = Diana Vickers 'Once'[/b] I therefore predict Diana Vickers will be no. 1 on the 3,000th official UK chart.
April 6, 201015 yr Now that the week issue is cleared up, I'm predicting that the #1 on the 3,000th chart week will be Diana Vickers with "Once"
April 6, 201015 yr 2,997: SFG/Usher/GaGa 2,998: Usher/Professor Green (:() 2,999: Chipmunk/Diana 3,000: Chipmunk/Diana
April 6, 201015 yr Author What about the years when there wasn't a new chart between Christmas and New Year? The missed weeks are just the same chart carried over - they still count.
April 6, 201015 yr looking at the release schedules Id say: 2,997 (this week): Scouting For Girls 2,998: Professor Green/Kate Nash/Usher :puke2: 2,999: Chipmunk/Diana Vickers 3,000: Chipmunk/Diana Vickers I honestly dont know who will triumph out of DV or Chipmunk, but whoever does will probably be the 3,000th number 1 Edited April 6, 201015 yr by chart wizard
April 6, 201015 yr Author Who the hell is Diana Vickers? Sounds like some tart on Eastenders. That's correct. I kid - she came 4th on the X Factor in 2008, and has the voice of a dying cat. Edited April 6, 201015 yr by BraySayer
April 6, 201015 yr Who the hell is Diana Vickers? Sounds like some tart on Eastenders. LOL. *evil look* no, she's an x factor finalist who came 4th in 2008. ever since, she's been working on some gems for her album, and the lead single 'once' is out on april the 19th and is recEIving quite good hype and support at the moment.
April 6, 201015 yr Id love Diana Vickers to do it, and even if she doesnt get the 3,000 number 1 i hope she can manage a number 1 in itself.
April 6, 201015 yr So this is for the Chart of Sunday 2nd of May? I think by then it likely to be 'Train – Hey Soul Sister', if not then Train will be the following week. 'Roll Deep – Good Times' stands more chance then Diana Vickers.
April 7, 201015 yr That's correct. I kid - she came 4th on the X Factor in 2008, and has the voice of a dying cat. Still preferable to the f***ing rap of 'Professor Green' though... :puke: Edited April 7, 201015 yr by vidcapper
