April 7, 201015 yr I would love to do this...but i don't think i'll have the time. :( Got a very busy couple of months coming up. :/ If there's another one...i'd gladly participate in that though. :D
April 7, 201015 yr Regarding this CD swap area while its on my mind, would it benefit from a sub forum, maybe in the personals charts forum. As it seems a lot of members are interested in doing this, and it will draw more users to it. I'm just bouncing ideas and toying with things or is it best to leave it to this forum. Any feedback will be great, anyhow its just an idea I had in mind.
April 7, 201015 yr i cant see it needing a sub forum tbh. it hardly needs many threads, maybe not even more than one.
April 7, 201015 yr Author Yer, I can't this meritting it's own subforum. It's fairly straight forward. If it gets larger maybe then. But let's just try it out first. I probably won't start the thread till this weekend, but it's not like people can't start thinking of a playlist or anything. I'm just supasupa busy.
April 7, 201015 yr will we find out who will recieve our cd or do we wait until they post which they got?
April 7, 201015 yr Author You'll have to wait until they post, if I can recall how CHC did it. Think it's more fun that way.
April 7, 201015 yr I have two current themes at the moment. One is a compilation that I have wanted to make for myself. It'll be interesting if the recipient spots the theme.

Yeah what tended to happen was you'd send and receive a CD with track and artist names removed so you didn't know what you'd got. Once a person reviews a CD which is yours you'd reveal it, what the tracks are, why you chose them etc..
April 7, 201015 yr Author Ah, yes! I forgot the tracks were untitled. Though if I recall I could see all of my track names because the person did it incorrectly. I wonder if we should keep that anonymity, I fear some people may find it confusing (deleting all the track info, etc).
April 7, 201015 yr What I did was burn it to cd and then rip in again. Voila - no track names except track1, track2 etc.

I wonder if we should keep that anonymity, I fear some people may find it confusing (deleting all the track info, etc). I don't think it should be enforced, but I think it adds to the excitement. I've loved not knowing what I was listening to on the two I had. And I'll certainly be making mine untitled again.
April 7, 201015 yr I think that no-title thing should be optional. When I got mine in the last CHC swap most of them still had artists/songs names on them and that didn't really matter to me, I don't see how removing them helps.
April 7, 201015 yr thing i if you know the tracks then you can go and find more music by the acts you like on it, although i suppose with untitled it gives no biasedness, but i was planning on including a bit about each track/act in sleeve notes and where you can find more etc.
April 7, 201015 yr Is that all it is? I had no idea, I never use zip folders. The easiest thing you could do is number the tracks in order of playlist. On ChC we removed all the information from the tags so literally nobody knew what song they were going to play next as the mp3 would be tagged 02 - Track 02 or something like that. Makes it all the more interesting. :D
April 7, 201015 yr Last time I did this on CHC I did a purely instrumental cd and the recipient had a tough time reviewing it. Count me in. I'm trying to think of a theme. I didn't receive that one but I remember getting Elly's album with featured four instrumentals. The only bit that was slightly baffling whilst writing the review was that I was writing things like "one minute in and still no vocals. The song has finsihed. It was an instrumental? Oh!!! :( ". :D In those cases a second listen was required to write a better review of the track. Edited April 7, 201015 yr by Hitstastic

Then whoever sent it reveals it's theirs and what all the songs are. You can still go and delve further into their work after? You can still do all of that, but post it after rather than with the CD.
