No tags I say - I know I would be prejudiced against a track if I knew who it was by.

I'll do an indepth tutorial on how to remove tags whenever I get this thread up. I'll take screenshots and all so hopefully it'll be easy to do.
Yeah the more and more I think about it the more I think removing tags should be required / highly recommended. Makes the whole thing wayyy more fun; to think if I liked a couple of Eurovision tracks...

One thing I would suggest is that you don't ask for the links until fairly near the end - otherwise some of the sites don't keep them and they don't work when the recipient tries to obtain them.

Does anyone use WinAmp? That's my main mp3 player on my PC and it's very easy to remove tag information using WinAmp.

Nah, i'm an iTunes guy. I'll burn and re-rip so it's tagless.

Eurovision entries/tracks that failed to get through to ESC might be included in my compilation as well! I guess i won't be doing a 'themed' album, just a list of songs from different genres which i like :D
Pretty much every player aside from WMP and iTunes makes it easy to remove tags! I use Songbird btw, good thing! :D
In a way, yes. :P

The way it worked on ChC was that once you got your album and gave it a listen (or how ever many times you wish to listen to your given album), you then write a review of each track - be as critical as you want or just completely rave about how genius the song is.

After you've posted your review, the person who compiled the album you reviewed will post the tracklist. Then you can stay in complete shock when you realise track 4 which you loved was by Westlife.

All the albums are given their own names. Eg; my best album was titled Fused. At the start of your review you give the name of the album you've got, then write your review. It's easier for the compiler to identify who has reviewed their album.

ahh cheers for explaining i get it now. yeah it does sound more fun that way not having any preconceived ideas about what who's song it is that you're reviewing and only have the actual song to go by..

I used to love Songbird but the latest updates couldnt handle the amount of music I had lol.

iTunes is terrible and anyone who uses it is very stupid when there are programs such as WinAmp and MediaMonkey and SongBird about.

iTunes is crap on my PC but is brilliant on my iMac (figures, eh? :D ). The problem I have with iTunes on my PC is that when I play cd's through iTunes it'd always struggle to play an entire CD without getting 3/4 into the disk and then stopping and starting as if the lens was stuck. <_<

I think I'm getting a bit too enthusiastic about this.. I've already gone through my music and narrowed the selection down to 104 songs to use.

Would just making a copy of each mp3 file and editing the properties of that one make them come up as anonymous? Eh.

Will 72minutes be the maximum we can have? Because I've already short-listed 14 songs, and I still have a few more in mind
I've started to work on my list, it's pretty tough actually! :o
Surely the max should be 80 mins? Do most blank cds not carry 80 mins?

That's what I'm thinking of using, as I want to put something together that I would want to listen to.

So can the tracks be literally anything? Obviously I won't be using anything by well known artists but it doesn't matter genre-wise or anything? And it can like be a mix of male/female/whatever?

SORRY TO BE DIFFICULT :(

You can do whatever you wish. The three albums I did all tracklisted songs I liked but by not so well known artists, or perhaps an unknown song by a well known artist.

You can have male/female/both/instrumentals/remixes etc...it's your album so let the album define you. :D
