April 7, 201016 yr Author Jack, I think Alexandra is guaranteed to get playlisted, there's still time. Kaci and Sophie are probably too poppy for R1, although Kaci has a better chance since her release is further away.
April 7, 201016 yr Author What retro year do you guys want from the following: 2002, 2003, 2004 or 2006?

April 7, 201016 yr Boring boring boring. The obsession with Biffy Clyro continues. I knew they wouldn't playlist Sophie. And Why is Florence still there? Don't get me wrong I love her but hasn't she had enough airplay this year so far?

April 7, 201016 yr I don't understand why quite a lot of people on this forum aren't happy unless a female pop singer is on the playlist and deride the rest as crap. The playlist is supposed to represent everything in music. They will probably add Christina next week seeing as she is a big artist and anyway the chart position of Gabriella Cilmi proves that you don't have to have Radio 1 to have a successful chart position. ;). That's actually offended lots of people. So sorry if it has. I didn't mean any harm.

I'm sure Gabriella would have been a pretty big smash otherwise, but it turned out to be a minor hit that scraped the top 10, and even so it's EXTREMELY rare a single does well without the support. You're practically buggered without it except in very rare cases.
April 7, 201016 yr It's not that any male artist is regarded at $h!t on here. Well i don't regard them as that anyway. I just get annoyed when Alexandra and Leona get snubbed over $h!tty music - by both females and males. Adam Lambert should be playlisted too as should SEB.
April 7, 201016 yr * Sub Focus featuring Coco - Splash I'm assuming this is Coco of I Blame Coco as opposed to of Toca's Miracle fame?

Oh I totally agree that Radio 1 helps in most/all cases but it just seems to me, and admittedly it probably only me, that if enough people like the song they will be hits. I know that post didn't make any sense, and I am probably gonna start an argument on here but it just bugs me that Radio 1 is needed for a song to be a hit.
April 7, 201016 yr Author I'm assuming this is Coco of I Blame Coco as opposed to of Toca's Miracle fame? That would be correct ;) Poor Coco of Fragma, probably a karaoke queen these days.

But when your song isnt getting playlisted, especially on Radio 1, you're missing out on millions of listeners who are gonna hear your song. Forget about people liking a song enough, there needs to be a big enough audience first. There used to be a time when TV channels had more power, like The Box, programmes like TOTP and CD UK did help too. All you have now are performances on popular shows, and lets face it, you wont be hearing a stomping dance tune on any of them.
April 7, 201016 yr I hate Radio 1!!! Once again crap playlist. There going to be sorry though once Selena Gomez gets a top 5 hit especially after the promotion shes been doing this week! :P

Most songs do need Radio 1 support otherwise they are completely F*cked! Most other radio station and Music Channels follow radio 1, which is a shame I wish sometimes they did what they want rather than being sheep!! Edited April 7, 201016 yr by Chris J.
