It was my first too actually :lol: I didn't like the idea of the banlist at first, but I see the point of it now (we've only had it for three contests :o)

I'm glad some people seem to be warming to it now, I honestly believe that it's improved the quality of the contest so much. It's become unpredictable again! ok, so Roll Deep/Lo-Fi-Fnk was predictable to an extent to me at least (even though 'BuzzJack hates rap' - clearly not anymore :P) but there was never absolute certainty that either one would win, like most of the previous winners. And Delphic were a definite surprise winner!

 

I definitely see why people were/still are wary of it though, because it feels like an extra control measure. But I really don't see what the likes of On A Mission, Starry Eyed, One Touch etc... would have brought to the contest other than cheap top 5's that everyone already knows.

True, Diana Vickers winning XXIV and Timoteij XXV would have been really boring... even if the latter would have been mine :arrr:

dunno, just a guess :lol: I probably would have only given it 5 or 6 for a start, like I say, they just don't feel like BJSC songs to me...having said that I did give Stay The Night 10 but I much prefer it to Kom! I haven't nominated Hurts, it's not as much an offender as some others, has it even had any airplay whatsoever yet?

Yeah you're possibly right, although I really think that Roll Deep still could have done it ahead of Kate - a lot of people are dissatisfied with Do-Wah-Doo, although I guess she perfectly fits the 'quirky indie-pop female winner' mould we've been having before the banlist was implemented...
