What is that Dizzee song? I assume it was announced on R1 before anywhere else, because I can find nothing about it at all on the internet. Or maybe it's an error? I assume it must be from a TNC re-release if it's a real song.

Pendulum A-List  I really hope it goes to #1, it's not released for another month yet :o

None of them are indie

I hate the overuse of that term, it's one thing to call Kaiser Chiefs or Blur that just because they're making fairly mainstream-leading rock that isn't punk/metal/electronic etc, but none of those bands are indie in the slightest.

On your other point, yes, All Time Low and YouMeAtSix do sound fairly similar (Lost In Stereo ) but Lostprophets? Not so much, maybe that's just me.

however you want to define them they sound very similar - i heardly notice the difference when they are played and i listen to radio 1 all day in work. as for burke - there are differences for certain artists but with candy i think they are just making up for the fact they didn't play it non stop last year - typical radio 1 a year behind in popularity!!

The Pretty Reckless song if nobody's heard it. Really good.

I've heard some of her songs like 'Blender'. She supported the Veronicas on part of their tour.

Surprisingly good voice. ^_^

They're in the indie/rock section of Radio 1, so that's what the station considers them to be.

It reminds me a lot of Hole, but maybe more Paramore-esque.

is pendulum not out on 2/5?

i think dizzee is re-releasing his last album with a few more releases - must be a track from it - no1??

I love the album but I agree, I think it's a good single choice :)

hmm...it's ok, might be a grower but I'm not a massive fan.

Listening to the new Chiddy Bang song now, samples Passion Pit :drama: the reaction sampling MGMT got, I can see this going down like a lead balloon!

Yeah I thought Paramore 'misery business' sound, it'll appeal to fans of them I'm sure :).

It's a nice album to listen to in one go definitely, if incredibly samey. But only Fireflies and Umbrella Beach (and to a lesser extent Vanilla Twilight) particularly differentiated themselves enough from the pack to stand out for me - the others might as well all be the same song.

Dizzee Rascal 'to re-release latest LP'

Dizzee Rascal has revealed plans to release a deluxe version of his latest album Tongue n' Cheek.

The rapper issued his fourth studio LP last September on his own Dirtee Stank imprint. The record has gone on to amass platinum sales and several number one hits.

"I'm gonna have a repackage of the album, I've got a few new tracks to put on there. A single and album tracks as well," Angry Ape quotes Rascal as saying.

When asked how he plans to spend the rest of the year, he explained: "There's going to be f**king s**tloads of shows and festivals all year, all over the place."

Rascal also spoke about promoting and distributing the record himself, after parting ways with his former label following 2007's Maths + English.

"They didn't wanna give me the money that I wanted for my renegotiation and we kinda had different ideas about things. But I still respect them - what they did and the journey I had with them.

"I did negotiating with all the big labels you can think of for that matter, but they weren't talking right when it came to it, so I thought I'll put it out myself. I took the gamble, now I'm f**kin' platinum, man. I've gotta be the first independent rapper [to go] platinum."

i think dizzee is re-releasing his last album with a few more releases - must be a track from it - no1??

Knowing Dizzee Rascal, it will be :(

So people didn't like the MGMT sample? I didn't really notice any reaction, but I liked the sample

Not listened yet, but I'm expecting to love it. Paramore are my favourite band, and "Misery Business" is one of their best

That's the disappointing bit, I found that a lot of the songs all sounded the same. When you look at other artists, like Lady GaGa who has songs like "Bad Romance", but then she has "Speechless", & "Eh Eh", then Ke$ha has her "Tik Tok", but also songs like "Blind". But with Owl, I find it hard to tell one song from another.

So people didn't like the MGMT sample? I didn't really notice any reaction, but I liked the sample

Well I liked it actually, but I remember seeing some definite 'what have they done, they've ruined it' etc...type comments on here

I like it a lot :o Apparently the singer was in Gossip Girl?

A crap list yet again and why all this Indie stuff that will stall in the 60's on itunes and will get quickly pulled.I really hope Sophie, Alex and Christina go Top 10.

Chiddy Bang sampled MGMT ('Kids' is excellent) but I just found the whole song really uninspiring. Typical rap fodder with a great sample thrown in. Oh how very Puff Daddy.

Then you have Professor Green sampling INXS ('Need You Tonight' - the original - is excellent) but in this case I find the song funny for all the wrong reasons. I know it's crap - it's meant to be crap. That's why I like it. If Chiddy Bang had done a novelty rap song I might've liked it more.
