I'm really surprised they didnt playlist alexandra, that would be so stupid to playlist bad boys and broken heels and then ignore ANL.

Glad bittersweet is being ignored, on account of it being a pile of crap.

If I was an Alexandra fan, I wouldn't worry too much - she'll no doubt get plenty of support from commercial radio with All Night Long. X Factor products always do, it's almost a law. Which is why it annoys me a bit when Radio 1 still give them so much airplay, over artists who struggle to get their songs played by anyone.

This was presumably Sophie's last real shot? No suprise really. What is suprising though is the lack of Selena, top 5-10 on I-Tunes and appealing to a young audience which is presumably what Radio 1 want, you'd have thought they'd have lapped it up.

I was expecting Christina and Alexandra to be added this week aswell really. Alex has I believe broken top 40 on I-Tunes and is released properly in a few weeks I think.

Good to see Marina move up to A-list on a positive note though :D

Hang on, Selena was never added? :o

It's done remarkably well considering that then. Maybe Radio 1 support is a bit overrated. Just ask Esmee, Usher, Gabriella and Lemar.

Rare exceptions to the rule, very rare.

At least 3 in the last month or two though. Maybe R1's popularity and influence is declining. Wishful thinking probably

I think SEB has a fair shot at pulling an Esmee/Selena/Gabriella.

I know, it's released 4 weeks this coming Monday, and it's already on the B-List. People on here say that the average that Radio 1 play-list songs in 3 weeks before

Around 4 weeks i'd say.

Rare exceptions to the rule, very rare.

But with recent songs like "On A Mission" & "The Way Love Goes", I'd say it's becoming more common :)

These songs still only just scraped the top 10 and then fell as though they had bricks tied to them though, Radio 1 is still a solid foundation it needs. I still think Gabriella would have been a safe top 5 had it had the support.

Wasn't Michael Bublé's Haven't Met You Yet not playlisted?

That song was pretty massive.

I don't think it was Radio 1 play-listed, but it was performed on X Factor (though I think after it had already started to chart)

He performed another track on X-Factor, not that one. Though it may have also had a knock on effect on that too.

The more high profile shows like Graham Norton and Jonathan Ross maybe even Jools are sure to have Sophie Ellis Bextor on.I think it will go Top 20.It is just so sad that Radio 1 are happy to push real duds that will do nothing in the charts like Jonzi, Darwin Deez, The XX, The King Blues and Paolo Nutini yet again.

I've always thought radio1 influence is exaggerated, yes its helpful but if a song isnt supported loads by the station it doesnt mean that song doesnt have the potential to be huge. Personally, i dont listen to radio1, i prefer stations with more variety and not just supporting songs DJ's or the radio1 producers like.

Paolo nutini has sold nearly a million copies of his album - radio 1 don't always follow singles chart positions which is a good thing imo.

They promote artists to their playlist which are massive with the various djs that have shows on the station - so for example Moyles/Mills will promote the latest big pop tune, eg rihanna/britney etc, zane lowe will promote a band he thinks deserve commercial success - eg The XX or Jonsi, Mike Davis(from the rock show) will argue to add the new Lost Prophets single, Pete Tong will argue the case for his big house tune of the moment eg Tv Rock and so on...
