Probably the best album of the year. Maybe. It's so gorgeous it's painful. My heart is melting as we speak.

It leaked a while ago as 'Baths' with two extra tracks, one being 'Palatial Dissapointment'. If it doesn't make the final cut under a new name I'll cry, it's astounding.

Benjiii, it's 'Aminals', not 'Animals'.

It's a one AMAZING album. My favourite is this 'Aminals' track :heehee:

"Hey we are elephants, we love giraffes"

What you said. Also, his last.fm page was full of comments about how the vocals are "unnessessary" and yet the lyrics are so beautiful and heartbreaking. I actually adore him, he just needs to lose the sideburns :(.

HE'S PERFECT AS IS HUSH, love those crazy ass sideburns

i'm legit a little head over heels for him, too bad he's SO FAR FROM ME. have him on fb though. aw yea.

i wish palatial disappointment was on the album but at the same time i understand why it isn't. it's such a downer / slightly immature (in an artsy way) compared to how beautiful and poignant the rest of the album is, not that it isn't poignant, it is just in a different way. "i'm here a flourishing and jovial male; i'm all spirits and tall tales" "as your f***ing boyfriend kisses you," highlights how hard it is to be gay / get a boyfriend / be 'outside the norm'. we're so desperately attracted to certain people and because percentage wise there are just fewer of us it makes relationships rare. jealousy. isolation. SO GOOD.

you're my excuse to travel is the best song on the album though, so f***ing simple and amazing. it sounds like passion pit (ish) but it's not crap. "if you still wanted me there, i'd be there in a minute" "it's always the simplest $h!t that means the most" f*** LOVE IT

...and oddly it's just been delivered at 9.30! The Royal Mail must work late these days...

Analytical :o

Plea is in the same vein as Palatial Disappointment with the whole gay theme - "we are still not valid." oh and ♥ "meet in the night like this is wrong", "i won't go back, i love this too much" etc. I love how desperate it all sounds <3. The ones mentioned here are the best on the album, along with Hall, closely followed by the all of the rest.

They're both (relatively speaking) "downers" but Plea is filled with hope ("boy, you are every color, how am i visible?"), and in a time where gay marriage is still illegal, it makes it all that much more powerful and simple ("please tell me you need me"), that plea to know you are loved despite the law telling you you should not be. Not to 'h8' on straight people but oppression / being an outsider creates much more realistic and powerful songwriting / relationships. Plea sort of highlights that. Palatial Disappointment, on the other hand, is clearly about an desperate, unrequited love, so it comes off as a much more of a downer. ("i've been as careless as versailles in getting ready for you tonight" "if it ends as well as it is in my head" - obviously the narrator is obsessed / in love with a boy and even though that person is in a relationship is still lost in his imagination/dreams of them being together, but obviously his hopes don't match reality thus ending in sadness (not sure why it's called palatial though? i guess just in general a huge disappointment)

Yeah, I really love this album lol. <3 I'm partial to anything gay obviously but this is lovely.
