Posted May 3, 201015 yr Going through all the numbers on Wikipedia I was pleasantly reminded that these three number 1s were consecutive and I think they represent my favourite triplet. Sadness and 3 AM Eternal were stunningly original pieces and Innuendo was far from being a standard rock song. Enigma "Sadeness (Part I)" 13 January 1991 Queen "Innuendo" 20 January 1991 The KLF featuring Children of The Revolution "3 a.m. Eternal" 27 January 1991 Edited May 3, 201015 yr by tonyttt31
May 3, 201015 yr There's surprisingly few to choose from, but here's a triplet of number 1's from 1999 that are quite strong: Armand Van Helden "U Don't Know Me" 01999-01-31 31 January 1999 Blondie "Maria" 01999-02-07 7 February 1999 Lenny Kravitz "Fly Away" 01999-02-14 14 February 1999 A dance classic, a pop classic and a rock classic.
May 3, 201015 yr Author Actually they were pretty decent. There were alot of decent number 1s from early 97 but any possible triplet is ruined by Spice Girls and LL Cool j White Town "Your Woman" 19 January 1997 1 Blur "Beetlebum" 26 January 1997 1 LL Cool J "Ain't Nobody" 2 February 1997 1 U2 "Discotheque" 9 February 1997 1 No Doubt "Don't Speak" 16 February 1997 3 Spice Girls "Mama / Who Do You Think You Are" 9 March 1997 3 The Chemical Brothers "Block Rockin' Beats" 30 March 1997

Weren't these preceded by "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)" as well?
May 3, 201015 yr I agree with Brett and spring 1997 was brilliant indeed. ..Celine Dion this: Cornershop "Brimful of Asha" 22 February 1998 Madonna "Frozen" 1 March 1998 Celine Dion "My Heart Will Go On" 8 March 1998 Run-D.M.C. vs Jason Nevins "It's Like That" 15 March 1998 Autumns 2005 and 2006 were pretty eclectic though..at least compared to the chart today. edited out all non retro referances. May 3, 201015 yr Author ABBA "The Winner Takes It All" 01980-08-09 9 August 1980 2 David Bowie "Ashes to Ashes" 01980-08-23 23 August 1980 2 The Jam "Start!" 01980-09-06 6 September 1980 1 This is probably better than the one I stated at the start. Two amazing songs and then a very good Jam one.
May 3, 201015 yr I find The Winner Takes It All very bland compared to the best ABBA songs It's pretty easy to find an great triplet from 60s, 70s and 80s..Time does its job and you remember the good ones.

May 3, 201015 yr the 60's were full of 3+ great #1s. the longest string i can find is from december 65 until june 66 beatles - day tripper/we can work it out spencer davis group - keep on running overlanders - michelle nancy sinatra - these boots are made for walkin walker brothers - the sun aint gonna shine anymore spencer davis group - somebody help me dusty springfield - you dont have to say you love me manfred mann - pretty flamingo rolling stones - paint it black only for frank sinatras 'strangers in the night' to spoil the run in june 2nd. interestingly id suggest that only that and jim reeves 'distant drums' were crap between december 65 and december 66.
May 4, 201015 yr This would be my favourite run: 03/02/90 Sinead O'Connor 'Nothing Compares 2 U' 03/03/90 Beats International 'Dub Be Good To Me' 31/03/90 Snap 'The Power' 14/04/90 Madonna 'Vogue' 12/05/90 Adamski 'Killer' 09/06/90 Englandneworder 'World In Motion'
May 4, 201015 yr I also quite like: 08/08/92 Snap 'Rhythm Is A Dancer' 19/09/92 The Shamen 'Ebeneezer Goode' 17/10/92 Tasmin Archer 'Sleeping Satellite' 18/01/97 Tori Amos 'Professional Widow (It's Got To Be Big)' 25/01/97 White Town 'Your Woman' 01/02/97 Blur 'Beetlebum' 29/02/98 Cornershop 'Brimful Of Asha' 07/03/98 Madonna 'Frozen' 21/03/98 Run DMC vs Jason Nevins 'It's Like That' (I'm dubiously ignoring Celine for this one as she was a return to #1)
