Thanks for replying to me. Just saw Stromae is now #1 on your Eurochart :cheer: In fact I love all of the top 3 on that chart...

''01 (01) Train – Hey Soul Sister - Are you going to ever chart this lol, really hope this goes to #1 for you actually, really love it myself

Next week. ;) Again going back to point about having some order in my chart, I've purposely held this back by one week.''

I hope the above means its a big contender for #1 then ;) I actually like the fact you hold back songs actually, brings a bit of order to it, otherwise like mine, the songs enter all over the place and have odd chart runs

Yes, Stromae is the new HET30 no. 1 thanks to the following countries:

Cyprus (no. 1)

Denmark (no. 1)

Flanders (no. 1)

France (no. 1)

Greece (no. 1)

Holland (no. 1)

Macedonia (no. 1)

Switzerland (no. 1)

Wallony (no. 1)

Austria (no. 2)

Italy (no. 2)

Slovakia (no. 2)

Luxumburg (no. 3)

Germany (no. 4)

Croatia (no. 9)

As for Train, they have a strong chance of hitting the no. 1 spot but it does depend on Stromae/Fyfe Dangerfield and whatever else enters next week. Exactly, if I entered a load of new songs all in one week and I liked all of them, the track that entered the lowest would have a disadvantage and not fully represent how much I like that song. Alas, I try to avoid yo-yo chart runs like 01-05-02-03-10-04-12-25-14-7. I know others have chart runs like this but my chart would become far too cluttered if I did this. Each to their own. :D

Btw, where do you post your chart? I've always been interested to see your personal chart but can never find it.

11 (--) Mika Vs Red One - Kick Ass (We Are Young) (11) [1 wk] My favourite Mika track of this era, and i loved Rain! (4 weeks at my #6 non-consecutively. :kink:) Absolutely amazing. :D I voted for this. :)

40 (--) Sophie Ellis Bextor - Bittersweet (40) [1 wk] I think everyone in the world that isn't obsessed with her has established that this plods along in the same standard i do my coursework...she needs to put more effort in if she wants to get another hit...

Great chart in general though...just commenting on the ones that i particularly feel the need to. :)

01 (01) Stromae - Alors On Danse (10-05-03-01-01-01) [6 wks] 3rd week for STROMAE :cheer:

Indeed. ^_^ Having already taken Europe by storm, 'Alors On Danse' is now enjoying great success in my chart.

09 (09) Lady Antebellum - Need You Now (09-09) [2 wks] Not bad!

'Need You Now' is a great pop/country track that could still climb to a new peak next week but it really does depend what enters my chart next week.

10 (--) Taio Cruz feat. Ke$ha - Dirty Picture (10) [1 wk] Really love this collaboration

I agree, I much prefer this to 'Break Your Heart' and no doubt this song will stick around much longer.

38 (36) Lady GaGa - Bad Romance (01-01-01-01-01-01-01-02-02-02-04-07-09-12-17-17-21-24-29-27-31-31-30-30-33-34-36-38) [28 wks] :heehee: Still there?

Definitely!!! It might 28 weeks into its chart run but I don't think I will ever get bored of 'Bad Romance'. It really is just a fantastic pop song that I can't fault whatsoever. Even 'Telephone' with the hype surrounding the 9 minute music video still hasn't had anywhere near the same impact with me. It's now my joint longest chart run with The Killers 'Human' which also spent 28 weeks in my chart.

So i discover your chart on BJ Hits. ;)

Hope all is well. :)

01 (01) Stromae - Alors On Danse (10-05-03-01-01-01) [6 wks] Apparently this is really popular around Europe? I think it sounds really lazy. :( Not a fan tbh.

06 (06) Roll Deep feat. Jodie Connor - Good Times (06-06) [2 wks] I knew this would make #1...it's so chavvy but manages to be brilliant somehow...LOVE IT.

09 (09) Lady Antebellum - Need You Now (09-09) [2 wks] Over the last week or so...i've really come to appreciate this track. :o Far better than most new music out at the mo. :)

10 (--) Taio Cruz feat. Ke$ha - Dirty Picture (10) [1 wk] Echoing Riches comment in that this was waaaaay better than his last single whatever it was. :P Great track! :)

11 (--) Mika Vs Red One - Kick Ass (We Are Young) (11) [1 wk] My favourite Mika track of this era, and i loved Rain! (4 weeks at my #6 non-consecutively. :kink:) Absolutely amazing. :D I voted for this. :)

Hey there Juran Juran :D

Great that you've re-discovered my chart here. ^_^

01 (01) Stromae - Alors On Danse (10-05-03-01-01-01) [6 wks] Apparently this is really popular around Europe? I think it sounds really lazy. :( Not a fan tbh.

Lazy? Already been no. 1 in twelve countries. Personally, I think this track is anything but lazy. Can you speak French? :P

06 (06) Roll Deep feat. Jodie Connor - Good Times (06-06) [2 wks] I knew this would make #1...it's so chavvy but manages to be brilliant somehow...LOVE IT.

I do think 'Good Times' is a great uplifting party track but I really can't stand the second verse. It sounds so lame and amaturish that it taints the song for me. If only Wiley had performed the second verse instead. :(

09 (09) Lady Antebellum - Need You Now (09-09) [2 wks] Over the last week or so...i've really come to appreciate this track. :o Far better than most new music out at the mo. :)

I heard this about two months ago and liked it on first listen. If only 'Need You Now' could have the same type of chart success as the song got in USA. Then again, country music in general is far more popular in the US than any other country.

10 (--) Taio Cruz feat. Ke$ha - Dirty Picture (10) [1 wk] Echoing Riches comment in that this was waaaaay better than his last single whatever it was. :P Great track! :)

'No Other One' - the no. 42 smash hit single. 'Dirty Picture' is far better and its chart success reflects this.

11 (--) Mika Vs Red One - Kick Ass (We Are Young) (11) [1 wk] My favourite Mika track of this era, and i loved Rain! (4 weeks at my #6 non-consecutively. :kink:) Absolutely amazing. :D I voted for this. :)

I liked 'We Are Golden' which made no. 8 in my chart. I would say this is a close second from this era. 'Rain' I didn't really get into although it did make no. 23 in my chart. That track was massive in Europe and I suspect 'Kick Ass' will be just as successful in Europe.

40 (--) Sophie Ellis Bextor - Bittersweet (40) [1 wk] I think everyone in the world that isn't obsessed with her has established that this plods along in the same standard i do my coursework...she needs to put more effort in if she wants to get another hit...

What a great comparison!!! To re-quote yourself "this plods along in the same standard i do my coursework". Juran Juran needs to put more effort in if he wants to get good grades. :kink: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/heehee.gif

Here's what I like:

11 (--) Mika Vs Red One - Kick Ass (We Are Young) (11) [1 wk]

12 (07) Diana Vickers - Once (04-07-12) [3 wks]

14 (08) She & Him - In The Sun (14-12-11-08-08-14) [6 wks]

16 (--) Two Door Cinema Club - Something Good Can Work (16) [1 wk] :)

18 (12) Yeasayer - O.N.E. (02-02-05-06-12-18) [6 wks]

21 (13) Lady GaGa feat. Beyonce - Telephone (03-03-03-03-07-09-13-21) [8 wks]

22 (14) Selena Gomez & The Scene - Naturally (08-10-14-22) [4 wks]

23 (15) Metric - Gold Guns Girls (15-23) [2 wks]

25 (19) Mumford & Sons - The Cave (07-07-05-04-05-08-12-13-19-25) [10 wks]

26 (20) Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart (01-01-03-04-05-07-11-14-15-20-26) [11 wks]

30 (23) Timbaland feat. Katy Perry - If We Ever Meet Again (01-01-02-02-05-09-08-15-13-15-17-23-30) [13 wks]

31 (16) Kate Nash - Do-Wah-Doo (06-11-16-31) [4 wks]

33 (21) Gabriella Cilmi - On A Mission (01-02-02-06-09-13-14-21-33) [9 wks]

36 (26) Hot Chip - I Feel Better (18-26-36) [3 wks]

38 (36) Lady GaGa - Bad Romance (01-01-01-01-01-01-01-02-02-02-04-07-09-12-17-17-21-24-29-27-31-31-30-30-33-34-36-38) [28 wks]

39 (--) Biffy Clyro - Bubbles (39) [1 wk]

40 (--) Sophie Ellis Bextor - Bittersweet (40) [1 wk]

My favourite song on your chart is Gold Guns Girls, not crazy about the album/radio version of the song, but acoustic/live performances have really sold me on the song.

Nice chart as always!

01 (01) Stromae - Alors On Danse (10-05-03-01-01-01) [6 wks] Lazy? Already been no. 1 in twelve countries. Personally, I think this track is anything but lazy. Can you speak French? :P

Tbh. no i can't! :P (Anymore...) But i'm more referring to the guy's voice...it makes me feel like he's bored. :P I'm not quite getting it at the moment. :(

06 (06) Roll Deep feat. Jodie Connor - Good Times (06-06) [2 wks] I do think 'Good Times' is a great uplifting party track but I really can't stand the second verse. It sounds so lame and amaturish that it taints the song for me. If only Wiley had performed the second verse instead. :(

100% Agreed...where does 'it goes quite rapid' come from... :P I always expect 'it goes quite fast'... :(

09 (09) Lady Antebellum - Need You Now (09-09) [2 wks] I heard this about two months ago and liked it on first listen. If only 'Need You Now' could have the same type of chart success as the song got in USA. Then again, country music in general is far more popular in the US than any other country.

It definately deserves the same sort of success here. :( Hasn't it sold like 3 million or something over there?

11 (--) Mika Vs Red One - Kick Ass (We Are Young) (11) [1 wk] I liked 'We Are Golden' which made no. 8 in my chart. I would say this is a close second from this era. 'Rain' I didn't really get into although it did make no. 23 in my chart. That track was massive in Europe and I suspect 'Kick Ass' will be just as successful in Europe.

Maybe i should move to Europe! :P I appear to be the only person in the UK who hasn't lost interest in him. :P Then again Stromae is #1 all over Europe (or has been..) and I didn't really like many of the clips from The Boy Who Knew Too Much off iTunes. :([/b]

40 (--) Sophie Ellis Bextor - Bittersweet (40) [1 wk] What a great comparison!!! To re-quote yourself "this plods along in the same standard i do my coursework". Juran Juran needs to put more effort in if he wants to get good grades. :kink: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/heehee.gif

It is true though... :(

My favourite song on your chart is Gold Guns Girls, not crazy about the album/radio version of the song, but acoustic/live performances have really sold me on the song.

Nice chart as always!

Cheers West :D

Metric's most successful single in my chart to date is 'Monster Hospital' which peaked at no. 3 in my chart. Not heard 'Gold Guns Girls' performed acoustically. Must check that out. ^_^

Basically, the song talks about the different issues the singer (Stromae) is going through in his life. He has to work, but he wants to party. He loves his son but he's getting divorced. The lyrics are thought provoking - but because it's in French I can understand why people in the UK wouldn't "get" it. Yet they got 'Joe Le Taxi' by Vanessa Paradis!!! :(

He obviously couldn't think of a better word to use to rhyme his rapping. :P

Don't think it's sold that much, maybe the track has sold around 2 million in the US but a song selling 1 million in the US is like a song selling 100k in the UK.

In the UK you're either "flavour of the month" or "past it". The same will no doubt happen to artists like Adele, Duffy, The Ting Tings once they return with a new album. Only American acts get away with being successful with more than one album - very few British acts can boast that claim (eg; Coldplay). As for Mika, he's always been hit n' miss so there no way I'd buy an album of his.

It is true though... :(

 When I was at college I was the complete opposite. I was completely dedicated to my college work and even when we got set deadlines, I gave myself a second earlier deadline so that I knew the work would be finished by the deadline, and it gave me enough time to re check my work so that I was satisfied. I'm certainly not grumbling over my 2.2 degree. At least it wasn't a 3rd or a fail!!! :o

Oh, i don't mind some foreign songs! Love some of the Eurovision tracks in other languages for example...but i'm just struggling with this one. :(

I think Adele will struggle with her next album...not sure about The Ting Tings...as they may change their style i have a feeling... Duffy i think will do pretty well with her new album i think...but it won't match Rockferry...

Now that's determination! I wish i had that kind of motivation to do well...looks like i'll have to live with my Ds and Es this year... :(

I would have replied sooner but i didnt realise you replied to me  Stromae doing very well in your Euro chart then, quite impressive its doing well in most european countries. Well I'm hoping for a debut at #1 for Train, i'll be disappointed otherwise :P

I should really post my chart (especially as i put so much into it) but few people replied in the past so i never bother, maybe I will at the weekend :)

When it's no. 1 in the UK in September you'll love it. :w00t: (wishful thinkin but it could happen!!! ^_^ )

Adele didn't really do well with her debut album. I think most people expected 'Chasing Pavements' to be a massive no. 1 but was outsold by Basshunter. The Ting Tings for me were very hit n' miss - I can't say I liked every track they released as a single. Duffy's debut album was very good imo but the reissue had some lukewarm tracks on it. I really didn't "get" 'Rain On Your Parade'. It just sounded like they tried to do 'Mercy Pt II' but forgot the big chorus so it all sounded a bit flat to me and showcased some awful high pitched squeeky vocals. Just...no!!! -_-

Hi Hitstatic :)

I love your chart especially your #1 :)

and I voted for Mika.

Cheers Addy :D

Good to see more appreciation for the "Alors On Danse" ** saxophone ** "la la la la la laa".

'Kick Ass' is a decent pop song imo and didn't deserve to bomb so spectacularly in the UK.

As I'm sure I've mentioned in the past, the HET30 uses a points system to calculate the performance of each song in each countries top 10. There were just 5 points this week seperating Stromae and Lady GaGa compared to last week where the gap between Lady GaGa and Stromae was 23 points. I suspect 'Telephone' will continue to tail off now in European charts.

Don't be too downhearted ( :P ) if Train don't get to no. 1 in my chart. I'm almost sure they will be in my top 3 next week. The power of Stromae and Fyfe Dangerfield is very strong. These three songs have been my most listened to since the end of last week.

You should post your chart. I feel that I should post more in other posters charts' but I then risk repeating myself in every thread. Or I can just list my fave songs but to me that doesn't really contribute to that posters chart. It's almost insulting in somone posts a top 60 and someone else replies "these are my faves", then only lists 7 songs.

I'll try not too but you've just pretty much said what your top 3 will be :P

I think i will post it, stayed tuned!

It may grow before then ya'knowwwwww. :P (Can't see it happening though... :P)

I was under the impression that 19 sold a fair few copies haha. :P I thought Rain On Your Parade was immense! Though it did take a while for me to get used to the vocals on it. :( I always thought it would work well as a Bond theme...

What are you studying at college/uni?

At 6th Form studying Media, Film and ECDL (ICT). Luckily i'm in my last year, and thinking about what to do for the rest of my life! :P
