I personally dislike seeing entries for the next competition advertised before the ban list is completed. As there is (at least) one track I've seen advertised that I fully intend(ed) to nominate for the banlist; but it now leaves me wondering whether to ignore it or go ahead and nominate it as I originally was going to. :(

I'm far less inclined to send said song now with this in the mix, they'd obviously take votes off each other. I've found about 4 other great possible entries now anyway, so it's not like it's my only option anymore :cheer:

NOOO...ban whatever you were going to originally, if you were already going to nominate it - it's not as if you're doing it in spite of somebody else, really.

I'm leaning towards three songs more than the other two, but all five options I have I love. Problem is, between the five songs there are seven artists involved so I won't be able to reserve all of them anyway.

That sucks. I think since we're having one big final, it might be time to increase the number of reservations, or allow colloborations as one artist... :kink:

So what do we derive from this?

* Lighthouse - Only just reached the Semi Finals from the qualifying rounds, this was not an indication of its quality as it comes First in the semi.

* Alex Roots - Ran away with it's qualifier against Heidi Montag, but proved that Fashion was actually not in Fashion tbhz.

* Feeder - Very nearly qualify for the final, fairly comfortably beat Ash into the Semi's but did not gain enough votes to qualify.

* Mika - Most people have heard so the countries population didn't think it would do well, hence it's massive loss of votes. If it wasn't released in a few weeks time, more people would possibly have voted however.

* Sarah Harding - Well she didn't Make It, stumbling at the last hurdle. Not too much of a surprise seeing as she barely even managed to beat Lindsay Lohan.

 

This means we are now left with our Final two. :D

 

The two songs contesting for a position in the 26th BuzzJack Song Contest are:

 

ALEX ROOTS with FAKE

 

and

 

LIFEHOUSE with HALFWAY GONE

I'm not quite sure about the one whole final thing that's going to be in BJSC 26....

 

I find that's it's much easier to listen to songs in groups of about 27-29 rather than 47-49 all at once

 

I have alot of work on college too so that doesn't help anything, this new idea is kinda damaging my enthusiasm for the contest......but I'll probably try it out the first time, I owe it to buzzjack to at least give this new idea a shot.

 

If this does stay I'll really miss semis, they presented a challenge that could be more easily overcome(qualifying) than actually winning or coming top ten. I would honestly rather DNQ in BJSC 26 than automatically make it to the final and come like 46th or something with like 5 points.

But you could still do that. You have two weeks to vote so you could listen to the first 25 songs in week 1 and the other 25 songs in week 2. ;)

Still, it's got to be worth a go and it's very handy in a month where I'm not sure any songs I've found would fair particularly well in the semis :kink:.

Like countless others have said, you have TWO weeks and it's actually LESS listening if you relisten to songs that were in your semi that made it to the final. If not, it's like 10-20 more songs. You're being dramatic. Winning will still be just as awesome. Semis are suckypoopoodoodoo. I'm in college too, it's not like you're the only one who's has a stressful life.

I'd much rather come last in the final with nul points than DNQ actually, because it means that at least everyone got the chance to hear your song even if nobody liked it :lol: Whereas the other system, only half of the contestants got to hear it, possibly the people that wouldn't like it anyway due to their music tastes, rendering its entry completely pointless if you're drawn away from people who aren't going to get the chance to discover it anyway.

I don't go risk-risk-not risk-not risk-risk-risk-etc. though :P I consider Bon Iver to be enough of a risk to cover me for another few contests anyway.

 

I was top five last time, but quite frankly I'd like another win at some point soon, and why not do it with a track I currently adore which most people probably won't hear outside of the contest? :heart:
