April 6, 201015 yr When do you suggest I start it then, thy Pavel? Any particular date?! Gosh, i was just saying that it's not the banlist compilation end date could be moving as well. Edited April 6, 201015 yr by Ljósið
April 6, 201015 yr Whoa, hang on Phil. When did we decide we were holding off until mid/late May for XXVI? Those dates are, thankfully, perfect however. You're free to shift it all back a week if you so wish (last year it was attempted to manipulate it so it didn't clash with Eurovision, which was earlier in May. Then Ben scheduled it the same week anyway D: Thank goodness he didn't do it the same night!)
April 6, 201015 yr OH yes, and for the record, we would much rather not have timings announced for the reservation thread. Having 40 countries all swarm for the same artist is all good fun to watch, however we would like some semblance of pleasantry in the BJSC. Also, we might keep the semis the same but introduce an andra chansen section. MIGHT before anybody starts bitching about how we're destroying the contest (as if we haven't heard that enough times already for plans which eventually went ahead and...didn't destroy the contest).

April 6, 201015 yr Yeah, that says XXVI in May, not that it isn't to start until May :heehee: Hence me saying preferable finish in mid/late May. The SF/Final weeks in May would make it a May contest.
April 6, 201015 yr Hence me saying preferable finish in mid/late May. The SF/Final weeks in May would make it a May contest. Oh, I just count a contest as being in May if the final results are in there :o I'd say early/mid makes it perfect, then we can have confirmation the week after ESC finishes...
April 6, 201015 yr The only disadvantage though is that people will know that tracks which come through the AC don't really stand much of a chance in a final :( Edited April 6, 201015 yr by Ljósið
April 6, 201015 yr Thr only disadvantage though is that people will know that tracks which came through the AC don't really stand much of a chance in a final :( Look at the last set of results - Angelicland would've come through AC and they finished top 10! Botanikka finished 2nd and Utopia finished 4th and both flopped in the final...
April 6, 201015 yr 2 weeks for reservations/confirmation is much IMO. However, if AC comes into force and implemented, then I'm pretty sure it will shorten.
April 6, 201015 yr Look at the last set of results - Angelicland would've come through AC and they finished top 10! Botanikka finished 2nd and Utopia finished 4th and both flopped in the final... Yep, i noticed that, but it doesn't happen that often however.

Botanikka finished 2nd and Utopia finished 4th and both flopped in the final... sadly, I was just about to say that. :nocheer:
April 6, 201015 yr Yep, i noticed that, but it doesn't happen that often however. it does with my entries lately lot of times.
April 6, 201015 yr Yep, i noticed that, but it doesn't happen that often however. There are normally at least two cases of it happening in each contest...
April 6, 201015 yr The only disadvantage though is that people will know that tracks which come through the AC don't really stand much of a chance in a final :( Snalla snalla snalla snalla... I don't agree - the sheer imbalance of the semis this time saw Rob jump from 6-1 as soon as the pop fans were all able to access the song in the semi, whilst Vita on the other hand was thwarted when the indie voters dampened her achievement of coming 2nd in the semi where most of the pop fans were! Andra Chansen will just ensure that the songs stuck in the wrong semi should make the final. There are tens of examples of DNQ's that could have easily come top 10/15 in the final, Headhunted for one :kink:
April 6, 201015 yr There are normally at least two cases of it happening in each contest... Don't forget to add Botanikka being one of them :heehee:

I count SF/Final weeks as being the actual contest and therefore the contest month is whatever month contains them ^_^ Early/mid May is perfect for the contest but horrendous for me Personally as i have 6 exams between April 28th and May 18th. But i Procrastinate like hell, so i should be fine to vote. Yep, i noticed that, but it doesn't happen that often however. Haffi Haff - Give Me Sexy, Ashton, XV, 3rd SF -> 23rd Final. It happens often enough :P
