Clearly it was ALL about The Safety Dance flash mob.

LMFAO. I just saw on the iTunes thread that they'd covered Safety Dance, no-one can ever imitate the brilliance of the original.

That's so freaky that Shoat put this on his CD. :o The original is brilliant though! <3

I actually had heard The Safety Dance was coming up, but it sounded so unlikely I dismissed the idea, only for it to pop up on Monday!

The original is FANTASTIC though. Videos involving dwarfs and drooling lunatic girls usually are.

I'm so awful at playing 'spot the cameo'! I didn't realise Idina Menzel played the Vocal Adrenaline coach. :o I didn't realise Eve was the coach for that all-girls school either. :drama:

Anyway, their version of "I Dreamed A Dream" was gorgeous. I'd only ever heard it through SuBo, who I can't stand, so I had a low opinion of the song. Loving it a lot now, so powerful when done properly. Unfortunately, it was the only good song this week.

The best episode Glee has done, for the reason that was stated in the AV review; it dealt with a theme that has been lurking under the surface of the show: that no matter how hard you try, your dreams will most likely not come true. And I think a large part of why it worked was because of the fantastic direction of the one and only Whedon  there were many great shots, although the stand out piece of direction being the 'I Dreamed a Dream' peformance. That being said a shot I really like is when Artie and Tina kiss, as the sunlight baths them through the school bus window, and the shot where Artie is in his wheelchair alone in the mall after his dream performance. Probably the most profound episode Glee has done, the only other storylines that match this are Quinn's pregnancy, and Kurt's realtionship with his dad. I'm getting the feeling Quinn will keep the baby, maybe after a heart to heart with Shelby.

There were so many great scenes in the episode; Idina Menzel scene in the car with Jesse, Artie's scene with Emma, Will and Bryan in the bar, Artie walking on his crutches and falling, and the last scene, where the camera concentrates on Artie's face, and in the distance you can see Tina and Mike dancing. Loved it, although I doubt they will deal with this sort of 'depressing' theme again, which I think is a shame.
