Not only that, but there's about 10-15 less songs on the playlist than a couple of years ago, not to mention a bigger variety since they used to play some dance.
April 16, 201015 yr What a crap playlist I only like Rude Boy, Russian Roulette, Bad Roance, Telephone and Starstrukk. The others are just a bore.

They might be old, but they are almost all good. Songs like 'Jay Sean - Down' I don't get feed up of listening to.
April 16, 201015 yr Author You might not, but most people are sick of hearing it on constant rotation after what, 8 months?
April 16, 201015 yr I think there might have been an error somewhere here. Just listened in, and they were playing Kelis' Accapella, and heard Usher's omg the other day. Unless they're playlisting system works differently to other stations such as Radio 1. They play the tracks as a New Music, then if prove popular get put on the main playlist
April 16, 201015 yr A lot of "older" songs, but I still prefer this play-list to the Radio 1 play-list
April 16, 201015 yr I hate capital because they always play the same old rubbish over and over again, even songs that havent aged well I mean come on- Broken Hearted girl and Doesnt mean anything still there?! Edited April 16, 201015 yr by chart wizard
April 16, 201015 yr They have definately added more current songs they are playing Sopie Ellis Bextor, Alex B and Rhianna Te Amo.

I do like capital though :] but this playlist may not be accurate as i hear new music on capital all the time.. Edited April 16, 201015 yr by Lovestoned
April 16, 201015 yr What's on the Century Radio playlist? I'm sure it's more stale than Capital's playlist.
April 16, 201015 yr A lot of "older" songs, but I still prefer this play-list to the Radio 1 play-list This tbh, it's a better mix of music.
April 16, 201015 yr Author They have definately added more current songs they are playing Sopie Ellis Bextor, Alex B and Rhianna Te Amo. Hmm strange. They do update their playlist, yet none of those songs are on it.
April 16, 201015 yr this is the reason why radio 1 is good compared to them - radio 1 get rid of most songs much quicker than commercial radio and start playing them sooner!!
April 16, 201015 yr I really don't like stations that hang on to the tired overplayed hits of months ago like this, or worse still the ones who are so slow that they only catch onto them a month or two after they've peaked and continue to suck any joy or magic out of them for the rest of the year. What's the harm in bringing something fresh and new to the table? For all of Radio 1's faults, at least they do this each week.
April 16, 201015 yr ^^agreed, its one of the reasons why songs hang around in the top 40 for months too cos commercial radio only starts playing them when they hit the top 10 unless they are a big artist with previous hits!!
April 16, 201015 yr I don't think that playlist is that bad. And I'm not sure how playlists work really, but isn't this just a list of the most played songs? They'll surely play other, newer songs too. As others have said, it seems much better than what stations like Radio 1 and Heart play.
May 18, 201015 yr I've just been looking at the Capital FM playlist and it's really odd. They've still got some *really* old songs on there like Bad Romance, Ego and You've Got The Love, what's all that about?! There's two Justin Bieber songs, two Lady Gaga songs, and then there's If We Ever Meet Again which is Timbaland's single before last! Did Carry Out even get playlisted? Same with Rihanna, Rude Boy's still on there but Te Amo still isn't. And then there's Sophie Ellis-Bextor which I swear they play all the time and yet it isn't on the playlist!! How does that work? Does anyone know how often it gets updated? Kylie's on there so it must have been updated pretty recently, I was just really surprised to see those old songs. Isn't a playlist supposed to consist of current songs? And also the playlist is all pop/R&B, there's not a single song by a guitar band on there (and no I'm not counting Scouting For Girls as a guitar band!) I know everyone on here moans about the Radio 1 playlist but at least it's SOOO much more current and varied than Capital's! Just looked at BRMB's playlist and it's not much different really. No wonder the charts are so boring and static these days, when the radio playlists are too. Edited May 18, 201015 yr by mango7
