May 23, 201015 yr I just download this album. What a dire pack of songs. I really hope Germany wins this year. :heehee: I can see why it would look that way to a first time listener, not many of them are instantly impressive. Great taste with your favourite though
May 23, 201015 yr I remember being excited at the time thinking that it would be the start of a renewed interest [chart-wise] in the UK for the competition! Same, although I guess it was somehow - loads of them made the top 200 last year, with Alexander going top 10, Jade top 30 and Yohanna top 50 :D Shame half of them weren't on iTunes in 2008, did any of them even make a mark at all, I seem to remember seeing Divine floating about and Secret Combination went top 60 iirc, higher than Andy went  I was surprised Maria didn't do anything, or was she not available to buy

The compilation is still up there I think, not sure though... Anyway I'm glad that we've finally got our entry on iTunes, but I don't think it will be a hit :(
May 24, 201015 yr I seem to remember she was album only. The compilation is still up there I think, not sure though... Anyway I'm glad that we've finally got our entry on iTunes, but I don't think it will be a hit :( Only the 2007 one is still there I think :( I'm really fed up with the 'album only' songs preventing people from buying them. Why would the record company not want Satellite to have a chance to be a hit? Unless they're planning a later UK release for it regardless of how it does...
May 24, 201015 yr Well I can imagine it as a UK hit, but really it would have to win the contest to do it now... :(
May 24, 201015 yr I listened on Spotify the other day (some have been removed now) and I can honestly say the only one I really really like is Lena's Sattelite. Safura is pretty good, but most of the others are dire :( I'll probably change my mind on the night tho
May 26, 201015 yr UK update (after semi 1); 249. Hera Bjork - Je Ne Sais Quoi (Iceland) 266. Josh Dubovie - That Sounds Good To Me (UK) 396. Tom Dice - Me & My Guitar (Belgium) 458. Juliana Pasha - It's All About You (Albania) 1000. Giorgos Alkaios & Friends - OPA (Greece)
May 26, 201015 yr UK update (after semi 1); 249. Hera Bjork - Je Ne Sais Quoi (Iceland) 266. Josh Dubovie - That Sounds Good To Me (UK) :drama: Josh can't even chart higher than Iceland in his home country :kink: Good to see how much the UK is behind his song then
May 26, 201015 yr iTunes - Ireland Songs #61 & #76 Ireland #74 Belgium #179 Germany Album #33 Eurovision 2010 Great for Belgium! I can see many more entering the Top 100 after Thursday's show and we could very well see Iceland flying up after Saturday. :)
May 26, 201015 yr Wow, AMAZING for Belgium  Is Ireland's CD single out yet btw? What's the tracklist, and can I buy it online?
May 26, 201015 yr The CD single was released on May 14 in Ireland. Amazon.co.uk have the tracklist as just the ESC version of It's For You only. However, it says that it's unavailable. :( I've tried cdwow.ie and they don't seem to have it either. Goldendiscs.com only have it as a download. :(
May 26, 201015 yr Damn, oh well. If it's just one track probably not worth it, but I wanted the dance remix :(
May 26, 201015 yr Author Iceland nows seems to be at #201 according to livehits at 11:10am. I know not everyone trusts that site, but I think it looks like the iTunes chart
May 26, 201015 yr Iceland nows seems to be at #201 according to livehits at 11:10am. I know not everyone trusts that site, but I think it looks like the iTunes chart It's #195 on iTunes I just checked! Albania #344 Greece #772 :o Edited May 26, 201015 yr by Ljósið
May 26, 201015 yr Just to throw its obsessives into a rage, Safura's Drip Drop has been made 'album only' on iTunes and there's no alternative single, meaning that like Lena, it can't be purchased in the UK... Both of the favourites unable to buy - nice one!
May 26, 201015 yr :drama: Josh can't even chart higher than Iceland in his home country :kink: Good to see how much the UK is behind his song then  To be fair, he didn't have the bonus of a high-profile full performance  iTunes is simply ridiculous. I don't understand the logic of removing the two favourites :/
May 26, 201015 yr To be fair, he didn't have the bonus of a high-profile full performance  iTunes is simply ridiculous. I don't understand the logic of removing the two favourites :/ To be fair, it's the same story on Amazon/7Digital and the others...so I'd say it's more of a problem with the record company behind the compilation for some reason or another rather than iTunes :drama: Strange anyway though, there might not be any ESC top 40 hits this year which would be a shame :(
May 26, 201015 yr To be fair, he didn't have the bonus of a high-profile full performance :lol I'v always thought that despite automtically qualifying the 'Big 4' should be allowed to perform at the Semi's.
