I saw that earlier. Lena has like 5million+ views though :mellow: Has his only just been added then? I assume so if you've just found it haha. I think it could actually be a genuine big hit over here. That and Norway's song, seem to be the thing the UK love at this moment.

 

Haha, only because it's already been a record breaking smash hit around parts of Europe - biggest selling download single ever in Germany! Probabaly less than a million of those views are from ESC fans, moreso casual German/Swiss/Austrian music buyers. Still with a pre-contest smash like that, it's easy to see why she's one of the favourites whatever you think of the song :o

 

I don't know, I've just never bothered to look for it before I don't think. I expect it's been uploaded for a while before now :heehee: I agree, very much the sort of thing that I can imagine Heart FM etc...playing if it didn't have the Eurovision stigma attached to it anyway. Norway? Really, I don't think that You Raise Me Up clone would do overly well here :heehee:

Nope. That's the one. I personally don't like it, but like you said it's a 'You Raise Me Up' clone, and the UK (& Ireland) are suckers for songs that have that same build up etc... like that :(

Oh right :o Doesn't really seem to fit with the urban trend at the moment, and aside from X Factor winners debuts and Westlife's singles, I honestly can't think of a single song that has been a recent hit with this sort of structure. In fact the other day I was thinking about how few non Simon Cowell act related ballads are actually hits at all anymore. Daniel Merriweather's Red is the only recent-ish big one that sprung to mind :lol:

I won't be watching as I'm out tomorrow night, but I hope to come back to find out Belgium have won. Failing that, one of the following would be good for me too: Moldova, Iceland or Azerbaijan. Or the UK, just because it's the UK entry haha and I hope to see Germany flop :kink: (Doubtful I know)

Thanks Dre! Indeed, Waka Waka finally grew on me this week, I started getting into Wavin' Flag and thought 'I really should go back to Shakira's football song' and it massively clicked all of a sudden.
