Oh right, it's only on the international edition which is what I have. Still fail to understand why it is so definite when it and SWY have very equal chances IMO, and Katy Perry comparison is definitely an exaggeration. :/

The international version is a mixture of his first and second albums and a couple new songs, Dynamite being one of the new ones.

Dynamite has so far had so much more hype around it, which can be seen when watching it's T4OTB performance in comparison to SWY's as the audience were loving it a lot more and the fact that it's doing so well in America gives it even more hype.

Oh dear :drama: I hope in that case SWY release date is changed, or the new version of Dynamite turns out to be a disaster. :heehee: SWY's music video could do it a lot of favours though, and Dynamite definitely is no Break Your Heart and that was bigger in the US than here I'd say?
Jason Derulo not Burke's bad boy

Jason Derulo has denied rumours that he and X Factor winner Alexandra Burke are more than friends.

The US singer, 20, said: "I think she's a nice girl, very down to earth and lots of artists out there are not like her. She is actually a really sweet girl."

"We are just friends," he insisted.

While he may be riding solo at the moment, Jason did hint what he looks for in a girlfriend.

"I am pretty open. I think there are beautiful women in all shapes and sizes and colours, so I am really open," he said.

The Florida born star is currently on tour. His first UK performance will be at London's Shepherd Bush Empire on August 19.

LOL. Is the 'Dynamite' vs. SWY debate still going on? 'Dynamite''s going to be bigger, upon release week ASWELL as EOY, so I really don't know why people are still comparing them.

But anyway. I'm glad the SWY performance got some airtime on TV  Where can I find Taio's 'Dynamite' performance?! Was that on the main show?

I dont think Taio has had any huge hits other than Break your Heart.I do not think he is a big selling singles or album artist and Dynamite is not that great.Alex advantage will be better promo and hopefully radio support for what I am sure will be bigger sales long term.

And? Your point is? Who cares whether Taio's had less hits or not, it's about the songs at hand, that they have on offer now and the fact Taio is getting more and more popular, expanding his fanbase, whilst Alexandra's new one seems to just appeal to her die-hard fans. So there's really no comparison. I sound like a proper hater of SWY (I'm not, it's my current Personal number 1 where Taio is number 3), but being there at T4 on the Beach and experiencing the crowds reaction as each performers performed their newer ones, if I was going by that, I would say Taio is definitely number 1 (for a good 2-3 weeks), whilst 'Start Without You' would probably just reach top 30 (going by audience reaction). The crowd were dead for SWY, I'm sorry to say, but they were. Taio's had more exposure and will get more radio backing.

does it really matter what does better, i just hope this does well,

its getting alot of airplay, which is great. is it true Scott Mills played it?

And your point is not based on fact Taio had a short chart run with Dirty Picture and it has not sold 200k yet so where is his expanding fanbase. You also have no facts to back up that Start without You is only liked by her hard core fans.I think the opposite is true in that I have heard more non fans stating they like it.Of course SWY will be another Top 5 hit for Alex she has a loyal fanbase that is also growing judging by the increase in her facebook and twitter followers. As long as it is another hit for Alex is all that matters. If exposure where everything in getting hits Katie Price and Peter Andre would dominate the charts.lol

'Start Without You' has been getting very, very lukewarm reviews online. 'Dynamite' quite the opposite. It's appealing to more than just his fans. Also 'Dirty Picture' was heavily effected by the abysmal radio edit. Much like Britney's 'If U Seek Amy' radio edit, ruined that songs chance but whatever.

Yes Scott Mills did play it but if they playlist it I imagine it would have more to do with the fact that ANL was huge and they have been backing Marina, Ellie, Pixie and Diana whose singles are not doing as well.

Jonjo-Dynamite has also been getting luke warm reviews you talk about it like the second coming of Marvin Gaye when it is not great.

Completely agree with everything Marbb has said. Basing how big a single will be on a crowd reaction at one event is pretty weak, Taio Cruz is a very inconsistant artist nobody thought Break Your Heart would be #1 or that No Other One would miss the top 40 completely straight afterward and now everyone is saying Dynamite is going to be a surefire #1, everyone will most likely be in for a lot of suprises...

Dynamite is doing well in the US but it hasn't went #1 like Break Your Heart did, did it... So that really does not make it a sure-fire #1 in any case  The song is completely overestimated on here.

SWY "only appealing to her core fan base" when its easily the most versatile and broad-appealing single she's done, how many genres are fused into it... It's the type of song the U.S. would eat up TBH, no wonder its planned as her debut single there...

The reaction to Dynamite at t4 was crazy. people acted as if it's been a huge smash hit for weeks. It's so anthemic and the buzz over it is huge online.

I'm with Jonjo, Dynamite will peak higher and will sell more overall. There is already proof that it is a hit by looking at how it is doing in America.
Taio Cruz has never released a single that has topped Alex's single sales.Even if Dynamite peaks higher it will not outsell SWY.Alex has always sold well and consistently which cannot be said for Taio.Anyway not being funny but maybe it would be better to take the Taio posts to his thread as this debate will just be going round in circles.

I'm not sure if he's played Start Without You, but he played Dynamite on Friday.

I've heard Start Without You a LOT already on commercial radio stations though.

Do you seriously think Radio 1 playlists songs depending on how well they/the artists do in the charts?

If that was the case, then Leona (I Got You), Alex (All Night Long) and Adam (FYE - to a less extent) would have been A/B-listed and Pixie, Diana and all those crappy indie acts wouldn't have even been on the playlist.

It's either to do with R1's taste in music and songs they genuinely like or it's to do with record labels and their likes/dislikes.

It's more to do with the artist's profile or if Radio 1 want to continue supporting the artist in question, although I don't know what happened with 'All Night Long'. I'm still sure they'll playlist thos.

I don't want to come across as distasteful here but I think if R1 playlists this song, they are playlisting the wrong Alexandra singles.

All Night Long is more up R1's street yet that was snubbed.

Broken Heels and Bad Boys are very cheesy imo yet were playlisted by R1. I don't think they suit the normal R1 criteria.

SWY, whilst not cheesy (if this is cheesy, then so is the likes of Rude Boy etc -_-), is very similar musically to BH. If BH received a lukewarm response from R1 listeners, this could too and then R1 will think Alexandra is disliked by the audience which isn't actually the case.

Wasn't All Night Long an airplay #1 though? Even with R1 snubbing it?
