Posted June 7, 201015 yr Tempah gets Frisky in chart-topping bid 11:02 | Tuesday June 8, 2010 Source: MW By Paul Williams Singles Tinie Tempah has pulled off an early lead in his bid for a second UK number one single, but will face increased competition later this week with the release of Dizzee Rascal and James Corden’s World Cup single. Tempah, who topped the chart in March with his introductory Parlophone single Pass Out, is currently outselling the singles in second and third places combined with his newly-issued follow-up Frisky to claim the top-selling single of the week so far. However, Frisky has yet to come up against Dizzee and Corden’s Syco single Shout, which is not released until Wednesday but is likely to provide tough competition after being performed on last Saturday’s Britain’s Got Talent final. Their single is in aid of Great Ormond Street. Behind Tempah at this stage in second place is David Guetta featuring Chris Willis’s Positiva/Virgin single Gettin’ Over You, which climbed 40 places to number one last Sunday, while third spot is occupied by OMG by Usher featuring will.i.am. The RCA single, which topped the chart in May, had dropped out of the Top 10 but its sales have now lifted 77.2% on the week as a result of it being performed on the Britain’s Got Talent final. Sales of Usher’s album Raymond Vs Raymond, meanwhile, are 57.3% up on the week and it should return to the Top 20 this weekend. Hollywood/Polydor’s Miley Cyrus is also benefiting from a Britain’s Got Talent performance with sales of her single Can’t Be Tamed, which was in 13th place on last Sunday’s chart, up 235.9% on the week. Rascal and Corden’s single is likely to be joined in the Top 40 on Sunday by a handful of other World Cup-related singles, including K’naan’s A&M/Polydor single Wavin’ Flag, whose sales are up more than 50% on the week as it looks to reach the Top 10 for the first time. David Baddiel, Frank Skinner and the Lightning Seeds’ Euro ’96 Epic-released single 3 Lions looks set to return to the 40 where it could be joined by the Trevor Horn-produced Parlophone single Three Lions 2010 by Squad and New Order’s 1990 chart-topper World In Motion, originally released on Factory but now appearing via Warner Bros. Albums On albums RCA’s Christina Aguilera is in the lead with the newly-released Bionic as she looks to achieve her second UK albums chart-topper and is joined among the top-five sellers at this stage of the week by Brushfire/Island’s Jack Johnson, Epic’s Glee Cast, Reprise/Warner Bros-signed Michael Buble and RCA-handled Alicia Keys. Brooklyn band The Drums are in seventh place at this point of the week with their self-titled first album, released on Monday by Moshi Moshi and Island, while other new albums lined up to enter the chart will include Island’s Steve Winwood retrospective Revolutions – The Very Best Of and the Warner Bros-issued Iyaz album Replay. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Singles 1 Tinie Tempah 2 David Guetta/Chris Willis/Fergie/LMFAO 3 Usher 4 Emimem 5 Jason Derulo Top 10 9 Miley Cyrus Top 15 11 K'naan 14 Ke$ha Pixie Lott Top 20 17 Rihanna B.o.B./Hayley Williams[Airplanes] Top 30 Lady GaGa [Alejandro] Glee [PF] Keri Hilson Baddiel & Skinner/Lightning Seeds Top 40 England/New Order Justin Bieber Terry Venables The Squad ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Albums 1 Christina Aguilera 2 Jack Johnson 3 Glee 4 Michael Buble 5 Alicia Keys Top 10 Drums Pixie Lott Top 20 Usher Jason Derulo Top 30 Steve Winwood BEPs Iyaz Top 40 Ke$ha Biffy Clyro 40 Kings Of Leon NO SALES INFO ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ARTIST UPDATES Singles Dizzee Rascal 4+3 Alicia 4+4 Alexandra Burke 10+10 Plan B 20+2 Lady GaGa [Telephone] 20+8 Albums Katie Melua 6+6 Plan B 10+3 Florence 10+5 Rihanna 20+7 Cheryl Cole 30+9

June 8, 201015 yr Is James/Dizzee digital only this week? I thought it was getting a physical release?

June 8, 201015 yr As for the album chart, its a dead week will Jack Johnson stay at #1 for a second week, or will Michael Buble be able to notch up a place, the album chart looks very difficult to predict, Christina Aguilera is looking for a top 10 entry but I see her missing the top 10 completely Seriously?? IMO she should be #1 easily - she'll only need less than 30k for a start!
June 8, 201015 yr Wino's dad? Please God help us all :puke: Talk about cashing in on your own child's misfortunes. I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole but the public will probably lap it up. For some reason I don't expect much of Iyaz's album judging by the performance of B.o.B for example. I would#ve put Christina down for an easy #1 considering how low sales are but after the horrific lead single - it may put off casual buyers. I doubt she'll miss the top 10 though. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not Christina, that the Buble reclaims #1.
June 8, 201015 yr If XTina isn't number 1 I'll be surprised. My HMV actually had to replace the shelves twice yesterday I kid you not. Plus she was riding high on the pre orders chart and spent most of yesterday as itunes number 1 album.
June 8, 201015 yr She only needs 30,000. For album sales that is so low, if she doesnt get more then that that is a huge worry for her & her label. If she just gets top 10 at a time of such low sales i will be so shocked. Come on christina, maybe she needs to go back to basics ;) such a great voice.

Thing is this new album probably contains her best ballads. She needs to showcase them more. I Am is stunning.

June 8, 201015 yr Xtina might well get the no.1 album this week, but I can't see it hanging around too long, especially with the way so many eagerly-anticipated albums have fared this year
