July 26, 200915 yr Afraid not. #11. ouch especially after it being 8 in midweeks anyway...second single could pull it up also, if sony had shipped enough copies it prob wud have gone top 10, they have been pretty lame coz it sold out in alot of places
July 26, 200915 yr She was 24 copies from #10. Such a shame she couldnt hold on for a top 10 debut. ouch even more wtf is with her and #11?
July 26, 200915 yr No.11 peaking (probably) single and album, harsh irony of the highest level :drama:
July 26, 200915 yr Battlefield total now stands at 124,919. Album sold 12,810 this week. Jordin Sparks total is 118,120.
July 26, 200915 yr Hopefully the album stays steady. ^_^ "Jordin Sparks" looks like it could possibly hit 140-150k altogether. Edited July 26, 200915 yr by Battlefield
July 26, 200915 yr Her debut album did amazing to sell so much on a #17 peak. Gutted about the #11 positions. :(
July 26, 200915 yr So disappointed it's untrue. My local HMV had NO copies yesterday, I go in today, I swear to God she was number 5 on the chart wall and there must have been AT LEAST 100 copies! Such a shame, expected so much better, at least 8.
July 26, 200915 yr Author Awful sales for a #11! Album sales are in such a state at the minute. Anyway this album is growing on me all the time. My least favourite now is actually 'Dont Let It Go To Your Head' which is pretty annoying and never climaxes, and which I'd replace with 'Vertigo'. A lot of the ballads are really bland but it just about doesn't matter because her vocals are so good, especially on 'Let It Rain' which I have to say has crept up on me big-time despite the annoying rocky intro into the chorus. I lovelovelove 'No Parade' and 'Was I The Only One'. I think the problem as such is that they don't really know what to do with her. She's probably trying to be moved away from the tweeny-ish stuff on her debut like 'Next to You' (which by the way is amazing. She will NEVER top it.) but she doesn't really have a musical identity at the minute. Regardless of that though she's young so there's bags of time. So far I'd put the album roughly at a very respectable 7.5/10.

So far I'd put the album roughly at a very respectable 7.5/10. I'd agree she has no musical identity. The label promoted her in a more mature manner with "Battlefield" but some of the tracks on the record are still so "Disney". Like you said, she's still terribly young so there's plenty of time for her to work this out.
July 27, 200915 yr How much did her debut open up with in the UK? I'm hoping the album sales in the UK stay healthy and consistent. "Battlefield" the single is set top go top 10 on pop radio/CHR in the US this week, making it Jordin's 4th single to peak in the top 10. :) Tattoo: 5 No Air: 2 One Step At Time: 3 Battlefield: Set to go top 10 this week, it has been gaining radio spins like crazy. Top 5 is a lock, due to a lot of songs ahead of it decreasing. Oh, and I just edited Jordin's wikipedia page and put the UK sales numbers on there. :kink:
July 27, 200915 yr I know, but does it really even matter? I didn't think so... :S Anyway, glad to see it may peak in the top 10 in the US, that'll be amazing.
July 27, 200915 yr Awful sales for the album! Poor Jordin though, getting #11 in both charts, at least Battlefield the single is selling in good numbers i guess.

Maybe not #1 but it could go top 10 on the hot 100 coz radio airplay and sales are growing. Edited July 27, 200915 yr by musicrocks1000
July 27, 200915 yr I'm now listening to this on Spotify and I think it's really good - there's not a song I haven't liked yet and I'm more than half way through it. My only criticism is that the songs all sound very similar and as an album of work it all blurs into one. After a few more listens though this could change. I was going to name a couple of my favourites but as I just said, I can't really tell from the other yet - although SOS stood out for me.
