June 18, 201015 yr England will be fine. Slovenia are goint to qualify, and so will England. Don't care if we finish 1st or 2nd. The 'best' European teams not having the best tournament so far so it seems...! Yeah, it's far from clear if Germany will be top/second/ or not qualify in Group D. If England qualify(which seems likely) they could play Germany, Ghana or Serbia
June 18, 201015 yr Bloody hell! I get in from work and find out Germany lose! Unbelievable! Just caught the last 20 mins of USA-Slovenia. Why on earth was that goal disallowed?
June 18, 201015 yr Sky saying their "sources" tell them Green is dropped and James is in goal tonight.
June 18, 201015 yr Slovenia vs USA was without a doubt one of if not the best game of the World Cup so far! Not quite sure why the goal was disallowed though  I seem to be in the minority here, but I don't understand why Green has been dropped? He made a mistake, so that means he gets dropped?
June 18, 201015 yr Team according to Sky. James Johnson A Cole Terry Carragher Lennon Lampard Barry Gerrard Heskey Rooney

June 18, 201015 yr Bloody hell! I get in from work and find out Germany lose! Unbelievable! Just caught the last 20 mins of USA-Slovenia. Why on earth was that goal disallowed? The ref definitely blew the call on the disallowed 3rd US goal.....if anything, the US squad had the advantage, plus a foul committed in Dempsey, I think, that should have been a penalty kick, if the goal were waved off.... The Spanish ref in the Germany-Serbia match was VERY card happy.....there were a couple of card-worthy calls, to be sure, but, not the 9 he handed out.....
June 19, 201015 yr That indeed was a goal...The first huge mistake by referee I've seen so far. But a great much! Both played well.
June 19, 201015 yr That indeed was a goal...The first huge mistake by referee I've seen so far. But a great much! Both played well. I think the officials giving Harry Kewell a straight Red have just trumped it. A pity because at 1-0 up before the penalty & corresponding goal this was looking like being a very entertaining match v Ghana.

June 19, 201015 yr I don't see how they had any other choice with Harry Kewell. I doubt he meant it at all but it clearly came off the top of his arm which was outstretched, albeit not greatly. Is there any alternative when that's the case?

Is there any alternative when that's the case? That's the problem when the laws of the game are so prescriptive. The referee had two choices - a penalty and a red card or nothing. I think it was a harsh decision as Kewell didn't have much chance to stop the ball hitting his arm but it would also have been hard on Ghana if the referee had awarded nothing. A penalty and no card (or just a yellow) would have been more just but the laws don't allow a referee to do that. Any referee who does that in a World Cup would do so knowing he would soon be on his way home.
June 19, 201015 yr Strangely England are still overwhelming favourites to beat Slovenia on Wednesday. You can get 7/1. That's a great price. Fancy putting a tenner on.
June 19, 201015 yr The Cameroon vs Denmark match is so much enjoyable than watching England play in the last 10 mins of the first half... comedy of errors.

June 19, 201015 yr Cameroon botched several good scoring chances to at least tie it against Demark....
