If not for the hugely overrated I Kissed A Girl she never would have been a star.

This :kink: My problem with IKAG is not the song per se, but just that it was so blatant and slutty. Sure I can handle that from time to time (hell, I love GaGa :wub:) but she's basically one big pricktease.

I do agree that California Gurls and Tik Tok sound similar. A lot of people have merged the songs on youtube.

 

I think California Gurls is better though. It seems less wannabe 8-bit than Tik Tok for starters.

 

Both songs were produced by the same person (I think) though, so that may have something to do with it...

I love both 'Tik Tok' and 'California Gurls', and both songs are/were among the best songs of each year they were released imo. Katy's edges it for me at the moment though, but that's just probably coz it's new and all.

I hope California Gurls doesn't go #1, even though it's most likely it will - I really dislike it, it's incredibly generic and I've heard the same song a million times already (I like TiK ToK) and the lyrics are just terrible also.

 

I've always thought it'll be a #2 (possibly reflecting my opinion of it) and I still get that feeling from it even now it's looking like a certain #1. :unsure:

I don't mind the track but I'am afraid she is an idiot with her stupid religious views.
