Received the album today. I like the new songs but don't think they are quite as good as some of the stuff on "one shot". I'm glad they went with "missing you" as the lead single.

I can't get passed 'Higher' or 'Karma'! :(

 

I find myself skipping back to play them! Also on shuffle they came on together and I kept going back to play just those two tracks. I need to stop it, otherwise I fear I may overplay them! I can't help it though :(

 

I was like that when I got Aphrodite.

I fear it may happen when I buy Headlines, Died in Your Eyes is an ear orgasm

My rate/ranking of Headlines, now that the One Shot remix has leaked;

 

10.0 Missing You - Was unsure of it to start with but then it hit me in the face with its sheer brilliance. Absolutely adore it, whilst others have said that they prefer the verses, it's all about the raveballad chorus for me :wub:

 

09.5 Ego - One of their better singles

 

09.5 Higher - Brilliant choice of second single, instantly catchy and should sound great on the radio.

 

05.0 Forever Is Over - Never been a massive fan of this, and I understand why they put it on here but I really wish they hadn't :( I like the verses but I really can't stand the chorus.

 

09.0 Died In Your Eyes - I expected this to be the weak link of the EP from people telling me about the awful Kristinia DeBarge original (which I've still never heard). But I loved this on first listen, very Tedder-ish type song.

 

09.5 Karma - This is fantastic! So musically energetic with the random bleeps and synths everywhere. The chorus is absolutely brilliant and I found this more instant than Higher if I'm being completely honest. Higher will make the better single choice but I like them about the same amount musically.

 

08.5 Puppet - The weakest of the new tracks but it's still better than a lot of Wordshaker for me, I really like it.

 

09.5 One Shot (Starsmith Remix) - I couldn't remember how One Shot went upon seeing the tracklist to this EP. Then when I listened to it, it all came flooding back to me, and I'm not quite sure how I forgot it because it was by far my favourite track on Wordshaker, Ego aside. This remix doesn't change much, just gives it a bit more sparkle. Therefore I still love it.

Overall: Brilliant! I'm glad they went with this format instead of rush recording 5 more filler tracks to pad it out into a full album. I like the fact that the mini-album concept is taking off this year, I'd prefer to pay £6 for 7 or 8 great tracks instead of £10 for those 7 or 8 great tracks as well as 4 or 5 b-side quality songs thrown in too. Still not a fan of Forever Is Over but everything else is absolutely fantastic :wub:

The booklet is nice, the whole 'black' mixed with some colour gives me a major chasing lights vibe! They should stick to that :P

I got my copy today! It looked amazing stacked on the shelves! The cover's a proper eye catcher! :D

The green "blobs" around the logo are the clips holding it to the wall. It's an actual glowing light made like their logo :lol:

I really do love Frankies part in Higher :wub:

I've pre-ordered. Fingers crossed it comes Monday :D

Now I just need to work out where about on my bedroom wall to put the poster :lol:

I think this should go top 10, as MY seems to have been pretty well. I love all the tracks, just FIO is a bit boring. They should have put Here Standing or Wordshaker for another old WS track instead
