In three days it'll be a year since that shock(?)ing death of Michael Jackson. Where was you at the time? Can you still not believe that he has passed? And now that all the hype has died down, what do you really think of the supposed greatest entertainer of his generation?..

That's a mean thing to say. :( Some people will never get over it. He's a legend. :)

wont it be 4 days (from monday?) so friday the aniversary... i know where i was, the thursday night pop quiz had just finished and a guy next to me got a text, looked at me and said 'jackos dead'..

How is that mean? Jacko means jack to me other than a constant aural irritant from 1983 til last year.

But then we went over this all last year.

And too right Rob, he's not a legend. Fair play if you think he's a great entertainer but I don't.

I can't believe it's been a year already, it's gone really quick. I saw the whole thing develop from the initial ITV News reports that he had been rushed to hospital to Jermaine's press conference confirming the worst. It didn't even seem real and strangely enough I didn't feel sad at all the next day as I was in shock but once it hit I was devestated. I've been a fan for 7 years and I would've finally seen him live on 7th January this year, but it obviously just wasn't meant to be.

Who cares? Move on.

I only posted it seeing as it's almost a year since he's dead, and he was/still is one of the most controversial figures in the music industry...

Sorry, Jacko dying didn't bother me much either last year. It was an "oh wow" moment at the time, but he doesn't deserve this continuing fawning. Particularly since, if you remember, he was deeply unpopular in the years before his death.

The news that Frank Sidebottom died today has had a much greater effect on me already.

I was sleeping when my sister who lives in the UK texted me that he was dead. I couldn't believe it and checked the news.

I cried couple of hours and couldn't sleep. I thought of not going to work in the morning but did go after all.

It was a huge shock. I was planning to visit London to see This Is It. He has always been the no. 1 pop artist to me. I love his music to death.

After he died, I spent a day listening his music.

There'll never be anyone like Michael.

some of might say that thats a good thing!

A year ago I was on Buzzjack and saw a topic that said that Michael has gone into cardiac arrest. It later turned into him being dead. I had become a fan only about a year or so before his death. That evening and the next day I listened to his music a lot.

The MJ dead topic from last year in Retro was a MESS and shameful things were said. I hope this doesn't descend into that. Fair enough if you didn't like/love him or enjoy his music or whatever though. Sadly I only really got into his music after his death which is very bandwagon-y but better late than never I suppose.

Everyone is entitled to their opinon guys. but no really need to bait each other based on such opinons.

saying "who cares?" is a bit silly though, not a hard question to answer its not like he had a small following is it.

What! Oh no :( RIP Chris Sievey.

actually i think ill close this thread... fans worship him and non fans really detest him, i can see no point of discussion here because both sides will not yeild. we all know what he did (musically) and either love the mj product or hate it...

please feel free to pm me if you dont agree with this decision.
