June 27, 201015 yr what is the difference between england and a tea bag? the tea bag stays in the cup longer Superb!
June 27, 201015 yr Well, now I don't feel so bad with the US squad losing to Ghana 2-1 in extra time last night.....but, then again, I was kinda hoping a decent match would have erupted between England-Germany....so much for me hoping....
June 27, 201015 yr I expect riots from English fans. :heehee: It was horrible to watch. So disorganised I felt like crying. What a poor defence. Rooney and Terry didn't input anything in this cup. They are so overrated it's a crime. Beckham's facial expressions were hilarious, it's not like he could do any better GO ON GERMANY! WOOOOOO!!!!! Fabio, get new faces for England. PLEASE!
June 27, 201015 yr FIFA are reported to be "unhappy" about the booing by English fans of the German national anthem. Rightly so. I noticed that and it was very disrespectful. They were already frustrated even before the game started... @thisispop What do you mean with Germany's last minute 2-2 in the 1966 final? What was wrong with it? @Rooney Since years I read or hear that the English would be world class! But I really believe that it's only because of their good foreign players in the PL which make them play good! Just look what they have achieved the last 14 years in tournaments when they had to play at national level = without these foreigners...
June 27, 201015 yr Author England have one of the best teams on paper. It's nothing to do with foreign players making them play better, they can play, just evidently not as a team. Too much is expected of them. Central defence used to be one of our strongest areas, now it's one of our weakest.
June 27, 201015 yr They were already frustrated even before the game started... @thisispop What do you mean with Germany's last minute 2-2 in the 1966 final? What was wrong with it? In the last minute of normal time the referee awarded Germany a free-kick when Uwe Seeler backed into Jack Charlton which to all neutral observers should have been given as a freekick to England. Instead Germany scored from that wrongly awarded freekick to take the match into extra time.
June 27, 201015 yr Fabio should have played the WAGs - Colleen, Angie, Abbey, Christine, et al could hardly have played any worse than their partners! Seriously to look for English players to play as a team - they should look at selecting from the lower divisions - maybe ones that have more than 40% English players playing every League match. If there are any. The Premier Prima-Donnas have had their chances time and time again. Norma Edit - I still have some interest locally in this tournament - Ghana's keeper is Wigan's third goalkeeper. June 27, 201015 yr Author Manuel Neuer looks very similar to fellow goalkeeper Roy Carroll. I wonder what else they have in common ? LOL!!!

Just look what they have achieved the last 14 years in tournaments when they had to play at national level = without these foreigners... That's complete and utter tripe, Lampard as a prime example is frequently the best player in a Chelsea team that's just won the league. Fact is that we lost to the better team on the day, although Frank's goal would have turned the game around we'd have been lucky to go in at half time level. After that it would have been anyone's game but that's papering over the cracks that some of these players just regard playing for England as some kind of ego trip. I don't agree that we should get rid of them all, it's clear they're the best we've got as Capello - who has had no previous experience of managing in England - instantly made them central to his team. It's clear that the top players got disgruntled with Il Capo's stubbornness as soon as things started going wrong so if he does leave, I'd only be happy with one of two realistic appointments - Hiddink or Redknapp. Failing that, we could do worse than Pearce I suppose.
June 27, 201015 yr I think Redknapp is a very good manager but you just know that the tabloids have got some dirt on him that they're dying to publish if he ever got the england job.
June 27, 201015 yr Why wouldn't you try and get the one English manager who's proven at international level, Roy Hodgson? Steve McLaren's had a successful couple of years. :P

Instead Germany scored from that wrongly awarded freekick to take the match into extra time. And it was handball by a German player.

June 27, 201015 yr Why wouldn't you try and get the one English manager who's proven at international level, Roy Hodgson? Steve McLaren's had a successful couple of years. :P Hodgson wouldn't have the respect of the dressing room, Redknapp already knows half the players but is detached enough to be a good manager. Obviously Mourinho would be the dream appointment but I'm sure Hiddink could do a sterling job.
June 27, 201015 yr Hiddink's just signed for Turkey though... I think if we ever appoint another foreign coach I wouldn't want it to be anyone other than Hiddink to be honest.
June 27, 201015 yr Hiddink's just signed for Turkey though... I think if we ever appoint another foreign coach I wouldn't want it to be anyone other than Hiddink to be honest. Worst case scenario Scolari :P can't speak a word of English
June 27, 201015 yr Worst case scenario Scolari :P can't speak a word of English Even worse, Peter Beardsley who also can't speak a word of English
June 27, 201015 yr @Jared Leto So, then let's compare Lampard and rest with Ronaldinho e.g.! The Brazilian benifited from his team mates at Barcelona but at the national team where he couldn't count on them he played not so well in comparison (and now in Milan too)... And I think it's the same with many English players that they just need their world class foreign mates at their clubs to play that well and that must be the reason why they can't make the same for England! (Or do you really think they're just "only" idiots who lack passion at national side - I mean, come on! It's world cup! How can you have lack of passion in the most important football tournament of the whole world...)?!! Those following points I wrote on another forum and I also do it here now! 6 points how England can do better in the future: 1. Get a new manager who's actually English like Hodgson, Pearce or Redknapp! 2. Give more English players a chance to play in the big teams instead of all these foreigners 'cause in the end other national teams were benefiting from the current situation - England not...! 3. Don't pick the national squad on reputation but on current form! 4. Stop overhyping the players - so no one will be anymore surprised and wonder why they always fail... 5. Stop talking about rivalry & other sh!t - it makes too much pressure on everybody and don't help. 6. Cut the wages of these overpaid players - where's the passion when you got too much of anything...
