June 26, 201015 yr Thanks Jonjo :D I think Shakira's aided by the sun shining and the fact that the world cup is on (even though I usually don't care at all for football ). Agreed about Roll Deep, the third being The Avenue I take it? That was so ahead of its time, if it had been released in 2010 it would have gone straight to #1 with no trouble whatsoever.Haha. Same, I'm getting proper World Cup fever at the moment, the last England match made me interested lol. We played a good match, and I usually despise football (definitely the most overrated thing probably ever?). Yes. It is of course 'The Avenue' Such a good song, and I think you're right. They'd definitely score at LEAST a top 5 with it, had it been released now.

I'm even watching some of the other games too  Agreed though, it's definitely overrated, but then we all like different things I guess. The Avenue was the first rap song ever to go top ten in my chart (I think) Before that I used to hate nearly everything from the genre. Roll Deep made the breakthrough and since then I've listened to quite a bit of rap. I was gutted it only got to #13 in the UK, it seemed so fresh to me at the time, even though it sampled an old song. It still doesn't sound any older now and could easily have been the follow up to Good Times! My summer anthem of 2005 I think, or at least one of the major ones

I like Te Quiero, granted it's not as good as Alors On Danse but it's decent enough, and different, which is always a good thing. I already charted Kites a few months back when it first leaked/I bought it, so that doesn't mean you won't get points, I just didn't want to re-enter it  I'm not charting many BJSC songs at all this month anyway, 4 or 5 I think - and three are only because they're new singles, nothing to do with BJSC (Eminem & Rihanna/Flo Rida/I Blame Coco). :heehee:

It has elements of AOD, but you're right it's still different from everything else :) OK, fair enough, I'm sure that you wouldn't have heard, say, Spark otherwise though? I forgot to chart it when it first came out, so it's had an insane climb to be just outside my top 5 right now... to fall or climb next week, partly depending on how I do (it affects how I feel about a song, sad I know...)

I actually had heard of the Spark song before, but not paid too much attention to it until BJSC to be honest. The Fallulah song was definitely a 100% discovery though! Really  I guess I'm guilty of that in a way, Psycho climbed back up my chart from #7 to #4 after my win last month, but it wasn't on purpose, I just started listening to the song again a lot more, probably because of it winning :o But generally I don't let the results influence me.
June 26, 201015 yr Thanks Simon :D Kylie's album is fantastic  I couldn't wait to hear it, although I've pre-ordered it. Agreed about Alors On Danse but I can honestly see them not bothering playlisting :it :snif: Well I usually trust your opinion so hoping Kylies new album is good, I've managed to avoid leaks so far but I'll be buying it the Monday its out. Oh don't say that about Alors On Danse, I was feeling abit more positive earlier :P Seriously I think it could go either way, annoyingly the only reason it wont get playlisted is because its in french I think but i do think you could be right. We will soon know in the next few weeks. I'm just keeping everything crossed :cheer:

Radio would look like fools to ignore it when every single other country's radio has supported it, despite most of them not speaking French.
June 26, 201015 yr They definitely would. I can imagine it getting played on commercial radio and maybe even Radio 2 but not Radio 1 :drama: The title isn't even hard to say (though I expect Alorz On Dance ) I actually had heard of the Spark song before, but not paid too much attention to it until BJSC to be honest. Oh fair enough. I think someone else planned to send it and actually sent me a PM about it (maybe Kingdom OF Shadow?), but I can't remember who... Funny thing was I didn't think you charted Fallulah for some reason, or I would have said it  Yep, my chart methodology isn't scientific at all, it's basically how I feel about a song compared to others that week, so if I get a bad result, I'm not going to feel so good about it :kink:

Agreed, I only base mine on personal opinion too - although getting a bad result doesn't generally lessen my opinion on a song, but getting a good one has been known to improve it (Uh Huh Her for a start, who the hell saw that winning :kink:)
June 27, 201015 yr Hey Richard :D Let's see just how similar our charts are then. :P 1. Shakira feat Freshlyground - Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) (3) (CR-21-13-4-3-1) 2. Kylie Minogue - All The Lovers (1) (CR-9-1-3-3-2-1-2) 3. Lena Meyer-Landrut - Satellite (2) (CR-5-5-1-1-1-2-1-1-1-2-1-1-1-2-3) Longest Runner 4. Katy Perry feat Snoop Dogg - California Gurls (4) (CR-6-3-4-4-7-4-4) 5. K’Naan - Wavin’ Flag (5) (CR-23-32-8-5-5) Brilliant top 5 with some quality pop music here. Aah yes, I have Scissor Sisters top 5 instead of Lena who subsequently slips 05-09 for me. 7. Lady GaGa - Alejandro (8) (CR-45-24-37-32-23-23-OUT-40-34-30-34-38-9-5-8-7) 'Alejandro' is in a similar position in my chart but overall the song itself isn't up to the same standard as my top 5 singles of the week. 9. Yolanda Be Cool & D Cup - We No Speak Americano (31) (CR-41-31-9) This is brilliant in a quirky but funny way. Climbs to no. 1 on my pre-release chart so expct big things when this enters my personal chart. Apparantly this "rips off" Gramophonedzie but personally I got bored of 'Why Don't You' really quickly whereas this is far superior. 12. Stromae - Alors On Danse (19) (CR-41-39-25-18-12-9-8-9-13-17-OUT-19-12) Working its way back up. ^_^ It's on its way down my chart now but still hanging around my top 20. I'd love to see 'Alors On Danse' in its original form become a hit in the UK charts. I probably would be disappointed if it was a minor #36 hit. If so many other countries can make it a hit, why can't the UK? :( 14. Eliza Doolittle - Pack Up (20) (CR-30-20-14) This is brilliant. Only heard it yesterday for the first time but had already written up my new pre-release chart but this will do well in my chart. The chorus is infectious and a massive step up from 'Blue Genes'. 25. B.o.B feat Hayley Williams - Airplanes (30) (CR-42-24-22-40-OUT-41-36-30-25) Slowly working its way up my pre-release chart too. I was listening to this last week and I realised what th piano melody right at the beginning reminds me of; 'I Want It That Way' by Backstreet Boys. :o Honest, play 'Airplays' and imagine your singing "you are my fire, the one desire..." over the top and it fits perfectly. 37. Eminem feat Rihanna - Love The Way You Lie (Re-entry) (CR-32-OUT-37) I thought 'Not Afraid' was a decent return for Eminem but this is probably Eminem's best single since 'Like Toy Soldiers'. Assuming this actually is the second single it might as well be considering how fast its taken off on iTunes. They should get a video filmed now to maintain the songs popularity. Potentially this could be no. 1 on my chart but it's #3 in my pre-release chart. Any of those songs could end up being future no. 1 hits for me. Bubbling Under > Adam Lambert - Whataya Want From Me What's this? Have I charted 'WWFM' before you? :o :drama: It doesn't look like this is going to take off anytime soon in the UK compared to across Europe so I just decided to chart it now. It's already been floating around my pre-release chart for a few weeks. It may have entered at #12 but I can see this one working its way up my chart. It's miles better than 'For Your Entertainment' imo. Oh, and no mention of 'Billionaire' by Travie McCoy feat. Bruno Mars? You're not a fan of this? :( It's become one of my fave new releases this week - think it's a brilliant track (#2 on my pre-release chart). Or maybe you've not heard it yet?

Thanks Hits, I agree, I far prefer Yolanda Be Cool to Gramophonedzie, same instrument yes, same song no...The Eliza Doolittle single before this one was called Skinny Genes, not Blue Genes :kink: Indeed, you're right about that Airplanes intro :o Well, it's not so much that you've charted it before me, I'm just not sure that I like it enough to chart it at all  It's been bubbling under for about 6 months now! I'm not a huge fan of Billionaire no, although it's ok...
June 27, 201015 yr Thanks Hits, I agree, I far prefer Yolanda Be Cool to Gramophonedzie, same instrument yes, same song no...The Eliza Doolittle single before this one was called Skinny Genes, not Blue Genes :kink: Indeed, you're right about that Airplanes intro :o Well, it's not so much that you've charted it before me, I'm just not sure that I like it enough to chart it at all  It's been bubbling under for about 6 months now! I'm not a huge fan of Billionaire no, although it's ok... Also Yolanda Be Cool is taking Europe by storm which Gramophonedzie didn't achieve. At the moment 'We No Speak Americano' is at: #1 Denmark #1 Holland #2 Iceland #3 Spain #4 Australia #4 Norway #4 Sweden #10 Romania It could even climb to #1 in some of those countries plus others where the track has yet to be released. 'Skinny Genes'!!! :drama: Well, I knew it had the word genes in the title. :kink: Considering how well 'Skinny Genes' did on iTunes when it was released, 'Pack Up' could easily make the top 10 when released in a fortnight. Cue the mash up 'I Want Airplanes That Way'. (typically it's already been done loads on YouTube) dixXy2CidHY Does get a bit boring by the end though. 'Whataya Want From Me' is a great track imo so it'll be a hit for me regardless. Can't see it topping my personal chart though. Never mind then about 'Billionaire'. :P

California Gurls has been growing on me a lot lately, it's been consistently high here. I haven't listened to Sarah McLachlan's new album yet, but seeing it #1 here must be a good sign! Of the 3 songs I've heard, Forgiveness is my favourite. I really hope it's the next single. Great chart as always. Edited June 27, 201015 yr by West

June 28, 201015 yr Hey, my comments for this week :D 3. Lena Meyer-Landrut - Satellite (2) (CR-5-5-1-1-1-2-1-1-1-2-1-1-1-2-3) Longest Runner Finally got the album this week, Satellite, Not Following and Mr Curiosity are the stand out tracks for me 6. Agnes & Björn - When You Tell The World You’re Mine (NEW) (CR-6) I watched the video, possibly one of the most awkward performances I've ever witnessed , Agnes was like "Who is this bloke next to me?", he looked like he'd stepped out of the 1970's and the royal couple were thinking "why?". Loved the couple's awkward glances at each other  . Quite a nice song though 15. Jessy Matador - Allez! Ola! Olé! (11) (CR-49-OUT-37-34-26-34-12-9-11-15) Shame the juries stopped it going top 10 :( 22. FC Kahuna feat Hafdis Huld - Hayling (NEW) (CR-22) Hadn't heard this before. It's very similar to early Groove Armada songs 47. Cocknbullkid - Cocknbullkid (NEW) (CR-47) Have to say I was disappointed with this, quite a step down from her previous singles 48. Baby Alice - Pina Colada Boy (NEW) (CR-48) I'm not a fan of this at all, but did really like Mr DJ a few years back
