I've heard about this, but which scenes exactly were taken from TEOG video and is this valid?

From what I remember at the time it was all the teal hair coloured moments! TEOG mini single era had the teal hair and the video was going to follow suit but when that got scrapped they used a lot of the scenes for the Y&I video. Looking back there's not MUCH but it does make me think about the wasted opportunity for TEOG at the time :( and teal hair is my favourite weave on her ~

This is one of her if not her most underrated single for me especially in terms of her UK fans.

I still to this day think You and I got the best music video of the Born This Way era too. If she brought something like this out now after ASIBs success I think it would’ve perhaps done more UK wise!

A bold single move at the time for her though and one what paid off in the US.

Yep, I love this too! I don't get why it gets such a hard time. Perhaps it goes back to not being one of the main choices for a single? Having a look earlier in the thread, it seems Gaga held a vote for single #4 and 'You and I' was very low down... It also was a strange choice for the middle of summer.

I think the label were very keen on the track, especially in the US. I remember listing the singles she wanted (BTW, MTN, TEOG and Scheisse) and You and I & Judas were never meant to be singles, but she performed them with love looking back so she could've fooled me.

It was a local hit, but still well to go Silver here despite not cracking the top 20.

The thing is, at the time, it had been performed so many times before the album was even out. It was a huge favourite of her that she'd perform around the world. Then it was a promo single and charted top 10 in the US. There was no way it wouldn't have been a single.

I remember being annoyed at the time because Marry The Night was the one she had to go for over this (and Judas). But looking back, it works well in her discography - it's different, it's unique, it shows a different side to her. Is it my favourite? By no means is it, but it's ok ~ and better than Applause at least :D

This is the tea! :D

It's a really great song looking back, but so different to everything else she has offered I frequently forget it actually exists  Great live track though <3

I love You and I!

Her first track on a studio album what had that country ballad esque vocals what would later come to influence a whole studio album (and part of a soundtrack).

I’ve always really liked You and I. It has my favourite visual from her from the Born This Way era and the song itself has grown over the years too. I think it could’ve been a bigger mainstream hit for her had it been on Joanne (or been released when she hasn’t like HUGE with pop music and on single 4 from an era) but yeah I love it.

It was huge in the US though even in 2011. #6 on Hot 100 and 3×P.

It deserved the same treatment in the UK as it got in the US! It was her lowest peaker here at the time but I’d still say it’s gone on to be pretty well remembered and whatever single 4 was at that point it would’ve been tricky to continue the top ten streak she’d had with the BTW singles at that point.

You and I I always sounds amazing live as well

Yoü and I's peak in the UK - #23 - is excellent. It's a country-rock song in a year marked by EDMs and ballads, it's the 4th single from an album that had already sold like hot cakes everywhere and that was only performed once in the UK. Besides, I don't remember a song with that same rhythm that has been as successful as Yoü and I in the last 10 years in the UK and any other market around the world.

Y&I has always been a bit difficult song for me. Sometimes I love it, other times that We Will Rock You interpolation annoys me too much.

This has literally only just clicked with me now! I adore this song and it will forever be in my Top 5 Gaga singles but HOW did I not realise that after all this time
