What 'publicity blitz' has she been on then? I must have missed it all - There has been no TV/Radio interviews yet, No airplay, No PAs and no video! I would hardly call that a publicity blitz!

You obviously have missed it. She was interviewed on Radio 1 yesterday, and was apparently in on Radio 1 Extra too. People have been talking about her interview on Sky Breakfast news too and was on Alan Carr recently too. It sounds as if she's been doing the rounds of whoever will have her, and although she's complaining about people being prejudiced against the song because it is her, there is no way Radio 1 would even play a clip of the song if it was by an unknown. It's just not the sort of song that is relevant to today's chart radio, and her voice is awful on it. Even if the voice was good, the song isn't and it wouldn't get played.

 

She probably planned some more publicity stunts, but it's all being ignored because people like Cheryl more, but do you honestly think it is just a coincidence that the only time she could release the single was just after her fake wedding, or that photos from the fake honeymoon leaked the day the track came out.

 

She was relying on being all over the papers and being talked about for a couple of weeks. This hasn't happened, but tough. If she made a better record or was a nicer person she might get more support from the traditional promotion routes.

A interview on Radio 1 and being on Alan Carr a few weeks ago is hardly a 'promotional blitz' though is it? She could have done more if she had really wanted to and even hashed together a video!

 

Of course its not a coincidence the photos leaked the day the song was released - Is this not what most pop acts seem to do these days though? Release a snippet of info to the press to ensure publicity runs high? Katie is not the first artist to do it and certainly won't be the last!

I'm sure she will get a warmer response at G.A.Y next weekend - Advance tickets have already sold out :dance: Gonna be an epic night :wub:

 

Edit: And im sure a few Essex girls booing at her didn't cause her to lose much sleep especially when she commands upto 10k for a PA - Not bad for miming a flop single for 3 minutes :P

Well considering the club she performed at was a straight club called 'Mayhem' in the heart of Essex then yes im sure most of the audience was Essex girls [& boys] :D
