i cant help but think it would have made top ten if the download and pysical were released the same week!

I found an article from this time last year where 64 copies was needed to be No16 in the midweek physical chart. :P

The Top 3 at that point in the week (with sales) was:

 

1. JLS - Beat again (3,809 copies)

2. Green Day - 21 Guns (477 copies)

3. Stone Roses - Elephant Stone (406 copies)

Brilliant find! And if you needed 64 copies last year to go Top 20 you probably only needed 15 to go Top 40! :o :lol:

Singles used to be collected by a lot of people, myself included but when downloads started to become popular, cd single sales went down and because they went down, shops moved them from the front door to the back of the shop and some even stopped stocking them so sales went down even more.

 

But they are definately a fan purchase now, physicals are not for casual music listeners. The last 5 physicals i bought, i've never even opened the case, let alone put the cd on.
