February 22, 201114 yr Linda Sundblad - Lucky You - I actually really like Linda, and even though this is very generic, and essentially quite MOR as far as pop goes. It's very catchy, very Elin Lanto (not at her best though), and infectious. 8.5/10 Sara Lumholdt - Enemy - Really reminds me of Kelly Clarkson's Impossible. And I like that song - as I also like this, and it's simplicity. I really like the instrumental also. 8/10 Sebastian - No One Else Would - The whole production and feel of this is very weak. It feels like it could be so much more, but it just falls flat. Quite yawn, and the key change on this occasion was very unneeded. 6/10 Sara Varga - Spring for Livet - This sort of acoustic pop isn't my sort of thing, and I actually forgot I was listening to it, and became background music. I do appreciate nice vocals, but this was just boring for me. 4/10 Simon Fosberg - Tid Att Andas - Another very boring song, which although it was more memorable than Sara's, it felt really sickly in a Westlife sort of way. I dread to imagine what sickly crap this translates to. 3.5/10 Eric Saade - Popular - Am I disappointed? Actually, yes I am. The lyrics are cringy, and it's musically not as great as half of his debut album. Although it is very catchy, dancey and like everything I like. So... 8/10 The Playtones - The King - It was interesting, and different, which is kinda good after either slow acoustic-esque songs or camp dance/pop. It was fun - but I'm not really sure if I actually enjoyed it. 5.5/10 Shirley's Angels - I Thougt It Was Forever - Decent, nothing very impressive or anything that I'd go racing to hear again - but pleasant enough upbeat pop. 7/10 __________ TIL GLOBEN :: LINDA SUNDBLAD, ERIC SAADE ANDRA CHANSEN :: SARA LUMHOLDT, SHIRLEY'S ANGELS __________ And so far, my final and Andra Chansen would be: FINAL :: DANNY, SWINGFLY, SANNA, ANNIELA, LINDA, ERIC ANDRA CHANSEN :: DILBA, RASMUS, LOREEN, CHRISTIAN, SARA, SHIRLEY'S ANGELS Edited February 22, 201114 yr by Robot.
February 23, 201114 yr Author Sonja Alden's version of Invincible has leaked; GA9rcg4BtQw Not bad, far less impressive vocals than Carola's though imo...
February 23, 201114 yr I prefer Sonja's vocals to be honest! Her adlibs may not be as high or impressive as Carola's but for me she's much easier to listen to. I listened to Carola's version a few hours back and her vocals are like fingernails down a blackboard. So screechy.

Carola's version (Invincible or Evighet - I love both equally) is one of my all time favourite songs so it always had a lot to live up to. I'm used to the screechiness and like it :P
February 23, 201114 yr Nice version! I think I prefer it slightly to Carola's English version, her English isn't that great, but overall I prefer Evighet. Just read that aside from this, Sarah Dawn Finers' Not A Sinner Nor A Saint, the bonus rarities disc will include Timoteij's English version of Kom :w00t: AND Linda Bengtzing's version of Alcazar's Headlines :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

I've always wanted to hear the English version of that  . Hopefully it won't be as jarring as the recent Yohanna translation.
February 23, 201114 yr Did you not like Slow Down? It improved the song a lot for me. If it had been entered that way I think it would have won. Anyhoo, back on topic, I'm really looking forward to it, but I'm still holding out hope for Linda Bengtzing's I Did It For You (but another singer has a demo version of Jag Ljuger Sa Bra on the set, so I'm not holding out THAT much). Another interesting sounding track is Frederik Kempe and SHIRLEY EFFING CLAMP doing Du och jag mot världen :o I mean Sanna is great, but Shirley is something else!

February 23, 201114 yr Nope, there was just an interview with Christer Bjorkman (Sweden's Louis Walsh if you will) in QX Magazine, where he listed these tracks that would be included... * Jessica Andersson's "Jag ljuger så bra" (amazing, Jessica is not just another singer, sorry, but I want Linda's English version!) * Timoteij's English version of "Kom," "Run" (Need. NOW.) * Linda Bengtzing's "Headlines" (who knew :o) * Backup singer Agnetha Körsvik's "Hero" (anyone called Agnetha is fine with me :kink:) * Fredrik Kempe and Shirley Clamp's "Du och jag mot världen" (YES!) * Sonja Aldén's "Night Of Passion" and "Invincible" (I can't even IMAGINE Night Of Passion...) * Brandsta City Släckers' "En gång för alla" (means nothing to me) * Sarah Dawn Finer's "Not A Sinner Nor A Saint" (very nice too) I think there will be more on there, 9 tracks doesn't seem enough for a CD but as it's just a bonus disc I guess you never know...
February 23, 201114 yr Author I'm finding it really hard to get into Slow Down. I much prefer Nott  Has the complete tracklisting for that MF set been revealed yet? I agree, I like them both but I'd probably be more incline to put Nott on. I'm not always like this with English versions of songs I've heard in another language first. I far prefer She Wolf to Loba by Shakira for example... Nope, not that I know of :o

There will be another 9, I read that it was an 18 track disc. I had heard that Headlines was originally done by Linda, but then apparently she said that she didn't like it enough or something, I can't remember the full story. So then Alcazar sent it to MF 2010 instead of Karma Karma (mistake? I'm not sure - both are about as good as each other imo). I sort of see Christer as more Simon Cowell esque, he seems to be Sweden's main pop svengali/format producer/corrupter :P
February 24, 201114 yr Final heat's clips are up! http://svt.se/2.148322/melodifestivalen_2011 Unfortunately the heat is TERRIBLE considering the big names. Both Lindas are good but not great - Pritch is Diet Evanescence, Bengtz is Diet Varsta Schlagern; the heat is in such a state that it's no wonder Nicke Borg is seen as a favourite. Love Generation, as I've been saying for WEEKS, are the saviours of the heat and do a good performance by the looks of things, but I'm now convinced Eric has the final wrapped up. Julia Alvgard's good actually, but she doesn't stand a chance...
February 24, 201114 yr Author Oh dear...Lasse Stefanz are AWFUL, Nicke Borg has such a nasally voice that it almost sounds like parody, Anders' song sounds average and the backing vocals are awful. Julia actually sounds far better than in the wildcard round but still not 'great', Melody Club's song sounds alright, I really like the sound of the two Linda's - Bengtzing mainly, schlagertastic even if it is basically Varsta Schlagern (none tongue in cheek version). Looking forward to Love Generation's song in full, very much something I could imagine the revived Nicole Scherzinger doing! But yes, Eric's walking to Eurovision isn't he...it really does look like Sanna Nielsen may finish second yet again :(
February 24, 201114 yr Wow, most of that heat is woeful. Liking Linda Bengtzing's song and also Love Generation, but everything else does nothing much for me. Nicke Borg's voice is rather painful to listen to, Anders is obviously going through a midlife crisis and The Lasse Stefanz song somehow rips off Tina Turner's The Best whilst still managing to sound dire. Julia, Linda Pritchard and Melody Club are alright, but I was expecting something better from the latter two. Disappointing :(
February 24, 201114 yr Quite like the Love Generation song but it'll probably be Eric Vs Sanna in the final though I really like both songs. All songs will be available at the weekend won't they? Kinda ruins it in a way though as last year Anna had a big lead on itunes so her winning wasn't really a surprise. BTW is anyone having any issue with the a 'certain' download website? All week its been saying my daily limit is full yet I haven't downloaded anything :s
February 24, 201114 yr I'm still angry at the swedes for not sending 'Vaken i en dröm' -_- She have come 1st, 2nd and 6th for Norway in ESC! come on! :drama: I'm not very impressed by the quality of MF 11' :( deltväling 4 is their last chance to find something that screms a winning song, not seen anything particular in MF 11' that I think will win, many amazing songs, but no winner.

Yep me too, I haven't been able to download anything from there all week - and I even have an account with it! It just keeps on loading and then crashing and I've tried it on IE, Firefox and Chrome! :(

Vaken i en drom was terrible! And Eric is the pretty obvious winner of MF (though Sanna/LG could put up a good fight). I can't say I'm really understanding the people who think it won't do well in Dusseldorf given the quality of the competition so far...
