March 1, 201114 yr lol Danny to ESC? Hi another DNQ :D Are you actually serious? Many criticisms can be made of Danny's track but there's no way in hell it would miss out on qualifying. Seriously, what planet are you ON when you make half of these predictions?
March 1, 201114 yr Author Bet 365 odds, which I guess are what Tyron saw; Eric Saade 4/5 Danny 3/1 Swingfly 9/1 Love Generation 10/1 Nicke Borg 12/1 Sanna Nielsen 18/1 Linda Bengtzing 20/1 The Playtones 28/1 Brolle 33/1 Jenny Silver 50/1 Linda Pritchard 50/1 Pernilla Anderson 80/1 Sara Varga 85/1 The Moniker 85/1 Loreen 100/1 Shirley's Angels 100/1 Hmm, I guess they're starting to read into iTunes and assume that Danny might actually be a serious contender :o Unbelievably, In The Club is STILL #1 on iTunes, even despite Popular now being available! Poor old Loreen, 100/1 now!?! I can't find any site that's doing each-way bets which is a shame as I'd put some money on either her or Sara Varga I think...but most bookies seem certain that Love Generation will walk that first half DGT position... On a seperate note, kudos to Sweden for doing what I suggested they should do last year and getting contemporary! All of the top four on the odds (plus Loreen) could quite feasibly be huge UK hits right now! If Sweden do make it to the final this year, I see no reason as to why whatever it is that they pick shouldn't do reasonably well on our iTunes (providing that the album is actually on there this year ). Bearing in mind that little else contemporary has been selected for ESC so far this year, maybe they could conceivably win/come top 5 - seeing as the contest has seemed to be heading in that direction in recent years looking at the top end results!
March 1, 201114 yr Are you actually serious? Many criticisms can be made of Danny's track but there's no way in hell it would miss out on qualifying. Seriously, what planet are you ON when you make half of these predictions? LOL! but yeah I agree. Danny can go as high as top 10 in the final with this track/performance from MF.
March 1, 201114 yr I'm listening to Danny right now, and I just had a vision of him flopping in Dusseldorf if he's chosen. The song contest has got more contemporary in the last few years, especially at the top end of the scoreboard, but it's still contemporary in a "would be played on Radio 2" sort of way. I'm just wondering whether In The Club is accessible enough to all of the voting audience. I can also see the stage performance being (as usual for a Swedish entry) underwhelming and the repetitivity doesn't help either. On top of that I can't really see it flying with the juries.
March 1, 201114 yr IF and only IF Danny wins - I want apologies for people who said NO DON'T BE SILLY :kink: also, love generation won't win that half of the draw - the bookies seemed to think they were 2nd favourites to win the whole thing before, and they didn't even make it through straight away, they're over-estimating Love Generation. March 1, 201114 yr Author IF and only IF Danny wins - I want apologies for people who said NO DON'T BE SILLY :kink: also, love generation won't win that half of the draw - the bookies seemed to think they were 2nd favourites to win the whole thing before, and they didn't even make it through straight away, they're over-estimating Love Generation. They'll have the benefit of a week of radio play and the press insisting that the RedOne song must get through to the final, no doubt. The only act I'd completely rule out from progressing from the first half of AC, sadly, is Jenny Silver :( Loreen vs. Sara Varga is too close to call (although if I had to then at a push I'd say Sara), but Love Generation should easily get past Jenny.
March 1, 201114 yr Which is a shame as Jenny is an epic track. I'd rather see Sanna and Eric win than Danny. I think they'd both perform far better in the actual Final of ESC [i can't see Danny DNQing, most likely 23rd would be calling it]
March 1, 201114 yr Author I put £4 on Loreen to qualify for Globen - a snip at 3/1! Firstly, on which site? Secondly, 3/1? There was almost no point in doing it! You'd get £13?
March 1, 201114 yr Firstly, on which site? Secondly, 3/1? There was almost no point in doing it! You'd get £13? Ladbrokes. I'm at a stage in my life where getting back a tenner on something can extend my budget by about another week, so it seemed worth a shot! I just wish I could find somewhere willing to offer each way bets on Loreen winning MF overall...
March 1, 201114 yr Author Ladbrokes. I'm at a stage in my life where getting back a tenner on something can extend my budget by about another week, so it seemed worth a shot! I just wish I could find somewhere willing to offer each way bets on Loreen winning MF overall... Hmm...I only really go for long shot bets that I'm confident in if I'm betting at all - they pay off about 50% of the time (the week Miss Frank left X Factor I had a tenner on at 14/1 or something - I was THAT confident ). I certainly won't be putting any money on Loreen qualifying, I think Sara might beat her in the duel and even if she wins, she has to go up against Love Generation. That said, it's been top 5 on iTunes since release so who knows! If she does make it into the final, then indeed I can see her doing very well (same with Love Generation AND Sara - what a ridiculous first half of AC it is to say that only one can make the final!) - so I'd be inclined to put an each way bet on her - but I haven't seen any each way bets on offer anywhere :(
March 2, 201114 yr THANK GOODNESS. Although I've rather terrifyingly come around to the idea of Nicke Borg causing schlagerfiaskot, so long as he goes for URGENT styling och consulting upon victory.
March 2, 201114 yr Author THANK GOODNESS. Although I've rather terrifyingly come around to the idea of Nicke Borg causing schlagerfiaskot, so long as he goes for URGENT styling och consulting upon victory. Leaving Home is quite the anthem! I can't understand why I'm enjoying it so much... I could see it doing fairly big things at ESC too! Although maybe it would step on Denmark's toes a bit...
March 2, 201114 yr I'm quite annoyed that I came around to both Nicke Borg and A Friend In London at precisely the same time. I'm no stranger to u-turns on Eurovision tracks but GOOD GOD why did it have to be the two that I found the most obnoxious until yesterday?

I'm no stranger to u-turns on Eurovision tracks but GOOD GOD why did it have to be the two that I found the most obnoxious until yesterday? I did wonder what it was exactly that you had against A Friend In London...it's hardly fair to lump it in with the happy clappy chirpy Change, it's a lot more anthemic and rousing/far less throwaway, same goes for Nicke Borg. I do enjoy a good male led vocal anthem! I think it must be why I like Rescue Me by You Me At Six so much, although Chiddy Bang's input (as much as I enjoy it) slightly takes away from the anthem that it could have been.
