I caught the last 30 minutes of that documentary, the Blue track is really growing on me, at first I was in two minds, I think UK can get a good finish this year. Maybe Atomic Kitten/Liberty X will do a comeback next year.

It would be a shame for this to wind up as Blue's smallest hit, and I know it's unlikely but I'm really hoping that it 'does a Scooch' in the charts, I still have no idea how that went top five (two weeks in the top ten!).

Did anybody watch the documentary, I enjoyed it - I thought it would be more about 'Blue's journey' but it was almost a 'how to win Eurovision' show which I loved. Even moreso because I watched it in my 'dinner hour' at work, well timed to start at 6.10. I shan't go into the comments that I got from everybody else in the canteen who saw how intently I was watching it

It also suddenly reminded me that the first time I heard Love Shine A Light was around May 1997 time I guess, in church (I used to go with my dad when I was younger). I actually thought it was just a hymn like 'The whole world in his hands' or something, it had the same sort of vibe and quite a few people were singing it outside

Please do :kink:

Please do :kink:

Well the canteen was relatively empty but there were a few girls sitting in the corner and one of them (who I quite like incidentally) shouted 'hey Richard, are you enjoying that, you haven't taken your eyes off the screen for 20 minutes', so rather than shouting back 'oh yes I love anything to do with Eurovision', I went with the clearly far less gay sounding 'yeah I'm a big fan of Blue'. GENUINE head in hands moment :drama:

Oh Rich!

I think I yelled involuntarily at the screen whenever Barrowman appeared.

You know there's something up when Cliff Richard features in a show where he ISN'T the most irritating thing about it!

Oh Rich *Facepalm*

You should have gone with the 'It's more interesting than watching the clock tick'

Yep! With Freeview

It was the same in Asda but it had Sky, I used to sit and watch the music channels on my lunch break

I know :drama:

I think it was the fact that I got up precisely at 6.10 to switch the football off and put the Blue thing on just as it was starting, it was quite clear that it was something I'd been wanting to watch, I just expected the canteen to be empty at that time (it almost ALWAYS is!)

Really enjoyed the programme, but according to Digital Spy it only achieved 2 million viewers compared to the 6.3 million viewers watching the football on ITV.

Also I saw on ESC Daily there is a eurovision documentary to be broadcast on Saturday 7th May on More4 :) Source: http://escdaily.com/articles/17191

For those interested in how it'll do chartwise - it's VIP Track Of The Week on 4Music / The Box etc - so it's getting video support on music channels! :D

The video is pretty poor though :o

Excellent! At least you can rely on the music channels to play what radio refuse to :D

I do find it slightly irritating that the BBC have 'apparently' put so much effort into this entry and campaign, yet neither Radio 1 or Radio 2 deem it suitable for a place on their playlist. If they don't think either audience will like it, who exactly are they aiming the song at? And Radio 1 always supported Blue in the past as well, but with the 'Eurovision' tag, I guess they're no longer 'cool' - let's play Justin Bieber and Parade instead :cheer:

It is indeed, I saw the video on The Box earlier on (about 9:00 it was being played). Is Lee supposed to be the youngest member of Blue? He just seems to have aged the quickest - Simon Webbe looks the same as he did in 2005.

It's like you just said, the 'Eurovision' tag is probably not deemed 'cool'. Which is actually quite annoying, not to mention, Blue still have a big fanbase, which they are alienating.

Blue still might get playlisted a la the mentioned 'Parade'. But they will still probably not, I sometimes think Radio 1 would rather close rather than play something Eurovision related, I'm surprised they were still supporting the Sugababes last year. To say this, they deemed 'My Man'... I guess they get heart attacks when they are forced to play these entries in the chart show once a year.

Whoever that ghastly man is that slagged off the glorious Svetlana, he should be shot. What a tard. Throughout the documentary i just wanted to punch him.

I called La Voix for the big finish, but was gutted not to see Queen Yohanna there.

I've seen I Can twice on 4music today :)

Totally agree. The only person on the show that spoke any sense was Scott Mills, surprisingly. I've read somewhere aswell that apparantly he's doing the commentary for the semi finals, not sure if it's already been mentioned on here.

It was great to see Ishtar included on the programme, even if they were being ridiculed  .

Maybe Radio 1 will playlist I Can closer to the contest, maybe in the couple of weeks leading up to it? . It would be very strange for the BBC to go to the effort of getting Blue to enter if their own radio stations don't support the song at all.
