December 30, 201014 yr Personally we need a gimmick like Katie Price :kink: She came 2nd in our selection in 2005, and since then I think she's said she regrets trying for Eurovision.
December 30, 201014 yr Sorry Mikey, but are you ACTUALLY crazy? We need a good performer. And a great song. Not another sodding gimmick.
December 30, 201014 yr The BBC seem to push a potential winning contestant/song every few years ('It's My Time' 2009, 'Come Back' 2002, 'Love Shine A Light' 1997) so I think the UK will have to wait a couple more years before we send something that could win.
December 31, 201014 yr Well that's surely what Charlotte could give us. We used to do well with uptempo, but I agree, usually when a girl was involved...
December 31, 201014 yr A sequel to Crazy Chick to make my life worth living in oh eleven thank you love x
December 31, 201014 yr A sequel to Crazy Chick to make my life worth living in oh eleven thank you love x I can't see her going back down that route, it will probably be something along the lines of her current album, which isn't a patch on the amazing Tissues & Issues but still has some promise. How about The Opera Song (Brave New World) 2.0 :kink: That's one of my favourite songs ever! Or would that go the same way as La Voix? :(
January 8, 201114 yr i think we should send Ruth Lorenzo and her new song 'Burn', its on YouTube and it's a perfect mix of a rock/ballad/pop song plus we would get the spanish vote too! :) oh and she's a really good vocalist!!
January 20, 201114 yr ^^Actually wouldn't be a terrible selection, especially if she sang a bit in Spanish. But honestly, we could send Mika, U2, Take That, Tom Jones or Jesus and we will NEVER win this again. -_-

But honestly, we could send Mika, U2, Take That, Tom Jones or Jesus and we will NEVER win this again. -_- Don't be ridiculous. We've mostly sent third-rate artists with terrible the last few years, why are you so surprised we haven't done well? Surely it says it all that when we put in effort for Jade we did well?

But honestly, we could send Mika, U2, Take That, Tom Jones or Jesus and we will NEVER win this again. -_- This argument doesn't work. The one year we actually pulled our finger out our arse and sent a decent track with a decent artist we came 5th. Behind the machine that was Norway and Iceland. Both of whom have sod all neighbours.
January 21, 201114 yr An announcement is due within two weeks; http://twitter.com/bbceurovision Looks like it's going to be the one artist - multiple songs format, like Germany are doing. I just pray for somebody decent and not some long forgotten untalented flopstar.
January 21, 201114 yr Ooh, good news, thanks for that :) There was a link floating about for "auditions" with "songwriting talent a bonus" but apparently it was a hoax
January 21, 201114 yr Ooh, good news, thanks for that :) There was a link floating about for "auditions" with "songwriting talent a bonus" but apparently it was a hoax  I saw that too and was like "here we go again...". Thank goodness it's fake  Lots of people thinking it's going to be Katherine Jenkins representing us as there's a massive hole in her schedule from March through to the end of May apparantly
January 21, 201114 yr If they do the one artist, multiple songs format, then I have more hope for it being someone good. They won't have chosen one unknown (like Jade, Josh) to sing a few songs, as they wouldn't know at all what the public would think of them. I also don't think they'd have just settled for one flop artist from a few years back. It won't be someone really bigger, but if they do go for that format, it should be someone we've heard of at least once in the past couple of years.
January 21, 201114 yr I wouldn't mind Katherine Jenkins. I've never been a huge fan but has she actually ever put her voice to a song that isn't a cover? I really think she could turn her hand to a pop career a la Charlotte Church, she's certainly popular enough - her albums always seem to sell well anyway. But I can see something like La Voix going to ESC for us if it is her, which I expect I'd love, but it probably wouldn't do much.
