Honest Question.. Girls Aloud and The Saturdays.. There isin't a difference. Girls aloud were getting number ones, but with poor sales. Saturdays i presume will outsell girls aloud with ego or up eventually. The Saturdays Album sales are weaker but it took girls aloud a few albums and xfactor until they managed to get a number one album.

There is no question in what you just said??

Let's not get into The Saturdays Vs Girls Aloud.

Exactly. Bringing Girls Aloud into this topic randomly just seems as if you're looking for an argument between The Saturdays and Girls Aloud fans. -_-

Thats not a question....

It says in the release schedule Higher is released on 27th Sept?

That's far too early to release it, that's only in 4 weeks!

I don't think that release date is right, I won't believe anything until we hear it from The Saturdays official website or mailer, since they usually give out the release dates first.

The 10th October should be a right date I guess.

Am I the only one who thinks "higher" is just pretty average? I don't think its as strong as "ego" or "missing you".

No, you're not. I didn't get the appeal to 'Ego' too. Although I love all three lead singles: Up / Forever is Over / Missing You.

up is not lead single, if this is love was lead single from chasing lights

I personally would consider Up the lead to Chasing Lights since it was the single that was used to launch the album.
If they get the video out quickly it would be a good release date. They need to keep the momentum going so Headlines can hold steady. Then they can push out a 3rd single before the year is out to help capitalise on Xmas sales. Then comeback at the end of 2011 with a new album October/November time accompanied by an X Factor performance and they could be huge.
Video was shot yesterday. Una said so on Twitter!

Very soon after 'Missing You'! :o Looks like we might be getting this released at the end of September!

27th Sept is way to soon after Missing You. A late October release would mean that they chart in November, so a Janruary, August and November single list for a year is good, not OTT, but they can't have a month inbetween Missing You and Higher, thats Saturdays overdose and it will backfire :(

it'll be 7 weeks if i'm not mistaken. I think that'll be fine, 8 would be preferable but i think they want to get a third single out before the year is out to capitalise with the album.

Well if Missing You was out on August 9th and Higher is released October 27th like the reports are saying, I don't think it will be over-exposure to the standards of Girls Aloud Biology/See The Day (4/5 weeks if I'm not mistaken?)

Can't wait for the video!

at the time 'See The Day' was the lowest charting single..

it'll actually be 8 weeks, i think that's fine. If the late september date is correct.

End of Mid-October is what they really should be heading for, unless they get the song sent to commercial radio (at LEAST) now... ideally...

This week sometime (29.08.2010-03.09.2010): Sent to commercial stations (i.e. Capital/Heart/Local stations)

06/07.09.2010: Video Premiere.

08.09.2010: Added to Radio 1 Playlist

Inbetween: PROMOTION (Single & Album)

26/27.09.2010: RELEASED & PROMOTION BLITZ

It IS do-able. But I think October-ish release would be better for them personally...
