and Gaga wrote Bad Romance and Just Dance.

Who else in the Top 10 can claim that?

No-one, because their Gaga's songs....

You seem to be bigging these songs up way to much. Sure, they're fantastic songs, really catchy etc... But the lyrics aren't that great. Gaga is not a sensational songwriter, her "monsters" big her up far too much. -_-

I'm an unbiased by-stander. Apart from those two songs I think most of her material is average.

so my prediction for shakira getting top 10 was wrong. Lets see how wrong I can be with this ;P

1 GaGa

2 P!nk

3 Beyonce

4 Britney

5 Alicia

6 Kylie

7= Leona

7= Christina :wub:

9 Rhiana

10 Kelly

Here Here I totally agree, I thought it was only teen girl fans of boybands who overdid the adulation and stanning but the gaga freak fans are extreme. One would think Gaga created pop music, controversial videos, dressing like a drag Queen and walking on water.

Madonna, Grace Jones, Chaka Khan, Bjork have been there and done that.

I adore Gwen Stefani. I hope that she does a 3rd solo album one day in the future.

And I'm suprised Mariah got this high. I always got the impression she was hated on Buzzjack. Oh well, I like her.

Nelly Furtado though I do not like. Although she has some good songs I find her to try-hard and irritating.

Shakira and Katy Perry are both incredible

As for Madonna, she's an old perverted lady, although when I was younger I was in love with "Frozen", so some credit due there I suppose.

How did you stop loving Frozen? I still think it's great - the percussion is amazing.
Gaga doesn't deserve it either but when Kylie can write two songs as great as Bad Romance and Just Dance then I'll discuss the matter. Not that writing your own songs is all that matters but when you can do it well you should get credit.

i assume you mean co-wrote. Its not like she wrote them both herself. Kylie may not be a great writer but I dont think an artist that has been around for 2 years deserves to be number 1.

Janet is the youngest member of the Jackson family and possibly the second most successful as a solo artist after her deceased brother Michael. Her family roots and lack of vocal range have often been a source of criticism for the singer who has strived to carve a successful career for more than two decades. She's had some brilliant hits and is probably most known for 1997's Together Again. The SuperBowl fiasco is probably the only memorable thing people associate with her since the start of 2000 as despite several album releases she's failed to match up to the success of her early career. I still cite her as one of the more influential female artists out there.

Cheryl Cole/Tweedy whatever she goes by nowadays first came to public attention when she won Popstars The Rivals in 2002 as a member of Girls Aloud. The group went on to score 20 consecutive top 10 singles in the UK and reshaped the face of the girl band scene. Cheryl began to outshine her bandmates due to allegations of racial assault and her marriage to footballer Ashley Cole. Joining the X Factor judging panel in 2008 cemented her status as 'the nation's darling' and she is a regular feature on celebrity magazines. Her debut solo album 3 Words was released in 2009 and was rather poor tbh. That said I was addicted to Fight For This Love and a couple of others were listenable but nothing to get excited over. I have nothing against Cheryl, I just don't think she deserves all the attention and such she receives. She's currently recovering from malaria so get well soon huh?

I seriously can not believe that someone with such mediocre talent like Cheryl could be higher than someone like Janet Jackson. It really is laughable. Just proves that people really arent voting for talent.

Kelly Rowland, Alexandra Burke, Shakira and Katy Perry are in the Top 20. hahahahahahaah oh Buzzjack lol.

And dont even get me started on Madonna not being Top 10. Disgusting.

Im guessing people just voted for people who were current, pretty and young. Lets forget talent shall we. Thank god there are some great acts in the top 10.

and Gaga wrote Bad Romance and Just Dance.

Forgive my ignorance but who in the Top 10 actually writes their own biggest hits?

Again she co-wrote. She had help writing these songs just like a lot of acts in the top10 have.

No-one, because their Gaga's songs....

Couldnt agree more. Great songs. I love gaga but the lyrics are hardly amazing. People are just caught up in the gaga moment and think she is the best thing since Madonna.

Was I really the only person to put Madonna at no.1 in my voting? She's not my favourite female artist but she's released some of the best pop songs of the past 30 years and her influence and sales are simply unmatched. She's a complete icon in every sense of the word.

She was number 2 in mine. Its disgusting she isnt higher in this countdown and other acts are

Yes, I believe that's true. People are voting for people whose songs they enjoy. Just because you acknowledge that someone has talent, doesn't mean you vote for them, if you don't particularly like the songs. It's all personal and subjective and that's so natural!

Pleased Shakira and Kelly Rowland are top 20! :o I'm in love with both of them right now, so obviously think they deserved higher, but anyway. :P Beyoncé to win, anyhoo, but anyone but GaGa would please me. ^_^

LOL everybody needs to get off their high horses with all of this 'BUZZJACK SO EVIL 4 PUTTING X ABOVE X' crap. Get over it already and just enjoy the commentary.

A bit surprised that she finished so high given that the last album seemed to divide a lot of people and lose her a few fans but I'm glad nonetheless. Definitely the greatest frontwoman of all time (for me). She's one of those rare personalities who can flick between being a sophisticated celebrity and a crazy, quirky popstar with absolute ease and of course the voice is one of a kind. LAMB remains the best thing she ever did.

Best album: Love. Angel. Music. Baby.

Best song: Wonderful Life

015 Mariah Carey + 353 Pts +

HURRAH. Anybody complaining that she has/had a good voice and nothing more has obviously never been exposed to the joys of The Emancipation Of Mimi which is by far and away the best R&B album ever made. I love that so many people dismiss her for being an absurd diva when that's all part of her shtick and she's fully aware of the perceptions around here. Incredible woman, even if she has lost her way musically just a little (still love Obsessed mind).

Best album: The Emancipation Of Mimi

Best song: We Belong Together

014 Nelly Furtado + 363 Pts +

I'm surprised somebody said she's overrated - to me Nelly has always seemed like quite an underrated popstar. She sells big but when she's not got an album out nobody really mentions her as one of the big global stars alongside Beyoncé, P!nk and whoever else. I need to devote more time to checking out her earlier music but Loose is mostly a good album (not as filler-free as people make out though) and Mi Plan is fantastic.

Best album: Mi Plan

Best song: Afraid

013 Shakira + 406 Pts +

HURRAH! I'm not sure where I expected Shaki to land but she's in good company here. One of the most fantastic all-round talents out there - I think a lot of people don't even realise that besides writing all of her songs she actually produces a lot of them herself as well. And of course she's a brilliant performer as evidenced at Glastonbury this year.

Best album: Laundry Service

Best song: Don't Bother

012 Katy Perry + 425 Pts +

Buzzjack being a bit premature maybe in putting Katy so high but if the new album turns out to be as fantastic as the singles then it'll be pretty much justified. She's one HELL of a popstar - totally on top of her sex appeal, becoming a better performer all the time and always dominating her songs with that opinion-splitting voice. Before the year is out she may well be the biggest popstar on the planet.

Best song: Thinking Of You

011 Madonna + 495 Pts +

Poor brave M-Dolla. Don't sympathise with her too much, Buzzjack - she's the world's richest, most famous woman and doesn't even let her kids watch TV! In all seriousness she's obviously a legend but people can't be too shocked by this placing when Madonna herself has done so much to undo all the good work she's done over the course of her career with the past couple of album projects. She's beyond caring so why should we?

Best album: Confessions On A Dancefloor

Best song: Hollywood

Hollywood as Madonna's best song of her entire career? That's a brave statement. Personally, I'd put it at roughly her 61st. Frozen does it for me.

I really dont understand you last statement "Madonna herself has done so much to undo all the good work she's done over the course of her career with the past couple of album projects. She's beyond caring so why should we?".

I hardly think she is past caring. Personaly ive loved the last 2 albums. Maybe not on first listen but once you give then a gd listen they are actualy very good. I like when she tries diff things instead of stickting with the her typical dance/electro/gay friendly music like "confessions".
