I'm pretty sure it didn't, sadly. Something around 250k? I could be wrong though, I just remember constantly checking for updates and being disappointed with the sales/positions. I always presumed the single would have got it top ten... until 4 In The Morning completely derailed it.

Whilst debut single 'Like I Love You' did buger all for 'Justified', follow up singles 'Cry Me A River' and 'Rock Your Body' clearly had a much stronger impacts on the album sales.

Yeah, definitely. It did around the same as Wordshaker did initially but was saved with the second single, unlike Wordshaker.

I think an amazing example of this is Shania Twains album Come On Over. It peaked at 15 initially and spawned 3 top twenty hits (You're Still the One, When and From This Moment On), but it wasnt until single #4 That Dont Impress Me Much was released that she hit the stratosphere lol. Just look at this chart run...

Total weeks: 138 (12 weeks at #2, 11 weeks at #1, 14 weeks at #3)

If I remember correctly, Whitney Houston's 1999 comeback album My Love Is Your Love performed pretty poorly prior to the release of the title track as second single. I may be wrong, but I think it debuted outside the top 20 and, despite the gold-selling first single It's Not Right But It's Okay (her biggest single in years), didn't make much of an impact until My Love Is Your Love started picking up airplay a few months later. I remember it climbed into the top 5 (peaking maybe at number four, I think) and went multi-platinum. Go, girl!

When You Believe was the first single - the album made its debut at no.27 in the UK, and quickly slipped as low as no.71, before eventually climbing to no.4 :D

No wonder the album entered at #27!!! That song almost put me off music until the next video was played on MTV.

Does In The Zone counts?

Firstly it's peaked @ #14, then falled down for a many weeks, and when toxic & everytime bombed the single charts, album goes up again and in final has peaked @ #13 and it had very long chART RUN..

Yeah, I'd say so. It did drop massively after the first week and rebounded, re-peaked and sold a big amount in the longrun.

Thriller by Michael Jackson.

When first released it entered the chart at #29, climbed to #15 but was soon down to #36. Then the label began promoting Billie Jean, the album began to climb back up the chart and then reached #1 at the same time as Billie Jean was at #1. The album then spent 8 months in the top 10...

Its early chart run...

Born In The USA - Bruce Springsteen

Entered at #2 in June 1984 before quickly falling down the charts, falling as low as #79 at Christmas 1984. Then Dancing In the dark was repromoted, re-entered the singles chart and the album was #1 in February 1985. It then spent much of 1985 in the top 10 with another spell at #1 in summer 1985.

Its still was a bit of a flop album but it defenetly did better on the second single release - Keri Hilson - In A Perfect World.

When it was released Return The Favour it got to #62 but re-peaked at #22 when Knock You Down took effect.

Both David Gray White Ladder and Dido No Angel were originally released in 1999 but didn't reach No1 until 2001. :o

White Ladder reached #1 in its 66th consecutive chart week, a chart record. In addition no other album in chart history has sold as many copies (1,520,000) prior to first reaching #1.
Like A Virgin by Madonna. Started out so low, but with each single released it kept getting higher. When she released 'Angel' it finally peaked at number 1

That's impressive and one of my favourite piece of trivia.

My favourite example of those is R. Kelly's Chocolate Factory. The album debuted at #41 and climbed to #10 (Ignition Remix) and stayed there for three weeks. It was also a start of a new era for him: successful GH and another Top 10 album (Double Up).

Also singles are not always the only saviours: Elbow's The Seldom Seen Kid reclimbed due to the Mercury Prize and it's close to triple platinum now I think. Amazing for such a non-commercial album without big hits.

The Corrs' Forgiven, Not Forgotten peaked at no. 2 three years after album was first released.

Stereophonics' Word Gets Around returned into Top 10 also three years after it debuted and peaked at no. 6

Both were "saved" by huge second album.

I was one of the hundreds of thousands who bought this in 1999 after seeing it for a fiver in the Virgin sale having fallen under the spell of Talk On Corners. Seriously incredible debut album which I still listen to maybe once a month at least 15 years since it's release  The album chart where they held down #1 and #2 simultaneously was my favourite ever chart.

Is that the last time the same act has Top 2 albums simultaneously?

Damn, I'm good at going off-topic :P Nevermind

I believe so. Michael Jackson held down four of the top five last summer simultaneously but never both #1 and #2.
