August 5, 201014 yr Author 12 / Russian Roulette 9.12 (less 11s) Controversial in terms of lead singles, this ballad had everyone thinking WTF when it premiered, no one expected it. We ALL expected a banger. That said, it underperformed slightly for a Rihanna comeback single (mainly in the US where it peaked at #9) but I still stand by it as a good choice of lead single as it killed any 'Umbrella' comparisons an up-tempo would have caused. Favourite lyric: 'Just take the gun, and count to 3' 11 / Disturbia 9.12 (more 11s) This would have been a LOT higher had it not been for Nick F1's 00. I think this is one of her best songs, and definitely has stood the test of time still sounding fresh to day. August 5, 201014 yr 'Let Me' is probably there just because people thought it was the best track on MOTS... not necessarily because it is one of her best. I always mark the tracks of how much I prefer them on the album, personally. Maybe it's the same with others? :unsure: I'm sure the average would have been a lot worse had we only been allowed to give one 11, 3 10's and one -1 throughout the whole rate. Anyway; 'Russian Roulette' is stunning. One of her best without doubt :wub: 'Disturbia' is a great song, which got killed by overplay. :(

August 6, 201014 yr Russian Roulette - hauntingly beautiful and a great 'statement' as a comeback single but also a slightly idiotic choice. Disturbia - Wonderful although it never quite clicked with me like the other uptempos on GGGB. Let Me - WTF.

It performed somewhat poorly considering it was the successor of 'Umbrella'. However it still went Top 5 and Top 20 in the US. I remember when the news leaked it would sample 'Blue Monday' and I was SO excited to hear it. I did find it a bit of a let-down if I'm honest, and I never play it any more.
