Quite a lot of GA songs sold over 100k before 'Something Kinda Ooooh' - 'No Good Advice', 'Jump', 'Love Machine', 'Biology'. ;)

yea quite right and they did well considering how awful sales were them days

Girls Aloud are from Heaven!! They have the best pop singles ever!!! We can't compare them to other acts!! Respect!! Although, Missing You is a great song with very good videoclip!! The Saturdays deserve to be No.1!! They are also from Britain!! Support british artists and not "xenomania" anymore!! I'M from Greece and i love British pop!! I buy albums from british pop artists!! Do it the same!! Not only all billboard's hits!! Jesus!

To try and put some numbers on the chart battle (because I like doing things like this):-

  • Sats were 3.7k ahead in Tuesday mids, 3.0k ahead on Wednesday mids and 2.0k ahead on Thursday mids
  • Flo is selling 45% more than The Sats on iTunes (using the pop bars from Flo's #1 and the Sats #2 and #96 combined).
  • Flo is shifting approx 7.5k per day (based on Wednesday sales), probably will have shifted the same on Thursday and will shift a bit more on Friday/Saturday (based on Wed/Thu sales always lower than Fri/Sat sales).
  • Based on Flo selling approx 7.5k per day (which will all be on downloads as he has no physical), The Sats are probably shifting approx 5.2k on downloads (assuming that Flo's lead on iTunes is replicated on all download sites, if he isn't leading by as much on all the other download sites the Sats will be selling a bit more than 5.2k).
.

Therefore despite The Sats being behind on iTunes by a huge margin, selling 2-3k of physicals per day (if they can sustain it) would allow them to retain their current 2.0k lead.

Tough, but not impossible.

However, if I had to put money on it, I reckon that based on how Flo is eating into their lead (closed 0.7k from Tuesday->Wednesday mids, 1.0k from Wednesday->Thursday mids), The Sats might just hang onto #1 spot in tomorrow's mids by about 300-500 copies before being overtaken by Flo from his Friday/Saturday sales.

I think this mobile downloading thing will secure it for The Sats

Apprently they're on a BBC show tomorrow promoting, can someone confirm?

EDIT - ok, apparently they're on BBC Breakfast tomorrow morning. Also the mobile downloading has got them another 3K sales according to someone on Twitter.

Come on The Saturdays. On any normal week Flo Rida would win, but with The Sats having 10s of formats they can do it

IMO, Mollie ruins Missing You. Still, I like her voice but it annoyed me on this song. I saw the T4OTB clip and when Vanessa took over her parts it was flawless

Sorry, just how I feel.

Mobile downloading?

Sounds like one of the tactics McFly used to employ to ensure they secured a #1...and I remember the uproar that used to cause on BuzzJack when they got their unjust chart topper!

I love Missing You and The Saturdays but #1 isn't the be all and end all, particularly if it's only going to limp down to #8 or #9 next week or something, which is quite possible considering the current top 3, Travie, Yolanda, Roll Deep and Chase & Status should all be ahead at this point next week...

Supposedly..

1 - The Saturdays - Missing You 43.6k

2 - Flo Rida - Club Can't Handle Me

3 - Eminem ft. Rihanna - Like The Way You Lie - 39.9k

It's going to be CLOSE. Hoping The Sats can just cling on until sunday!

6.2K for the Sats yesterday then, I think Flo is nearly there, are you sure he is #2? I'll be doing the update when it comes.

YES!

Still number 1 :)

Hopefully this mobile downloading helps boost sales. And the breakfast television promo tomorrow.

Sunday at 7pm is going to scary!

No Flo Rida sales?

Come on!

3,700+ ahead of Eminem, nice.

Plus, they reduced the price of the Missing You on your mobile from £1.99 to £0.99.

Plus, they reduced the price of the Missing You on your mobile from £1.99 to £0.99.

The gap has decreased according to sources on twitter, so it's definitely sold more than 41,693.

Really surprised Sats are still at the top...

However look as JLS and the Wanted - both slipped on itunes midweek and still remained at the top on Sunday - so could happen again here... however both sold way way more than the Sats at this point
