Those two songs are beyond amazing, they deserve to be #1 more than anything in the top100 really :(

I'm certain that Olly will beat Katy to #1, at least initially, before dropping like a brick - she'll hang around for a while though...

Olly wont drop like a brick, i think he'll hang around for a while with Please Dont Let Me Go, and have a feeling his second single will be better & bigger with x factor promo.

 

I don't want Olly to get #1, I really don't like the song. Haven't heard it on the radio either.

I do however really like the video for it, hehe.

It's a shame Taio Cruz only got this massive after his huge US success. He shouldl've topped the charts with Movin' On and Like A Star

 

Break Your Heart topped the UK charts before the US got it. I think his 'sound' is just far more in vogue now than it was in 2007/8, paritcularly in the UK where R&B/rap males have done amazingly well in the last 18 months. I personally prefer I Can Be and Come On Girl to Dynamite and Break Your Heart but there we go. If he'd released Break Your Heart in early 2008 and Come On Girl now, they would have switched chart peaks no doubt. Dynamite's one of those obvious hits with a massive hook and a 'now' sound, would have been huge here regardless of whether it had been a hit in the US imo.

Agreed I Can Be and Come On Girl are my favorite Taio tracks.

AFAIA, Katy is being simultaneously released with her album, which will harm her single's performance a lot. Singles simultaneously released with the album very rarely do well, a notable exception being Russian Roulette which was still a sizeable #2 hit despite being released at the same time as the album. (LTWYL doesn't count here as it charted highly as none more than an album track and hadn't had near the amount of promo RR had)

 

I think if it's not Olly it'll unfortunately be Taio again -_-

 

Hmmm, I beg to differ. Surely having a single and album version will favour the release? Will have multiple entries in iTunes chart.

not sure what's going on with brandon, aggro and rumers bars but i'm guessing that it's the bars that are right rather than the positions judging by where they were 45 mins ago..

True, I meant that C-listing didn't seem to do an awful lot, but I suppose 5 plays are only going to reach so many people. How many plays should a B-listed song get?

I saw the video being played on Smash Hits TV during Get Smashed (prodominently dance music videos) and was appalled with the edit I saw. There was an awakard edit when they edited out one word from the verse replaced with a badly timed synth note from the intro. Then when it got to the first chorus it cut to the second verse and it wasn't even a smooth edit. Tragic!!! :drama: Stromae deservs better than that. :(

I heard about A-list 20 plays a week (at least), B-list 10 plays, C-list 5 plays. :)

 

Katy B up to 12, Brandon up to 20, Rumer up to 38, Hurts up to 54, Pretty Reckless up to 61, Bring me to Horizon up to 66.

I wonder why Bring Me The Horizon are doing so well :unsure:

 

Anyway, looking good for 7 top 40 new entries from Taio, Katy, Brandon, Aggro, Rumer, Hurts and The Pretty Reckless, then three more entries a bit lower down for Bring Me The Horizon, Everything Everything and Kano :D And there's also Sky Ferreira who should go top 40 if she's released tomorrow. Stromae also stands a chance of climbing into the top 40, as well as Ke$ha if she's not top 40 today.

 

Hopefully Katy B can go top 5, she should make the top 10 in a few hours

Yes! Dynamite number 1! :cheer: :cheer: that was impressive, could be some first weeks sales too, I think this has climbed quicker than California Gurls did

 

Hope that Brandon can get top 10 as well, like that song- Roll Deep already down to 4 and will doubtless continue dropping, looks like this will also drop like a stone like GT did

 

oh and Im starting to doubt Teenage Dream can get there- albums being released at the same time is never good for a single, wouldnt be surprised if Olly Murs causes an upset or Taio gets it for a second week as he easily has this week

I knew that Taio would get No.1 ages ago :rolleyes: people always do for some reason with his songs. Sure and hope that Hurst will definitly get into Top.40 soon.

I hope that Duffy's Mercy get back in as the performance by Shirlena on X Factor was HILARIOUS! Good for Leona's SCYHO, this should please some of the digitalspy users!
